Agreed ... largely because there are a LOT of children of Zeus (that slut). It makes her no longer unique.

Indeed !

Also :

(1) I like that the birth of Golden Age Wonder Woman is explained in ... three pictures only !
(and only three goddesses are involved : Athena/Minerva, Aphrodite/Venus, Artemis/Diana)

(2) It is inspired by Ovid's Metamorphoses ! (^_^)

I think that Ovid's Metamorphoses are the ultimate who's who books about the Greco-Roman mythology (250 myths !).

Pygmalion's sculpture changed to a woman under Aphrodite/Venus's blessing. So, even in Greco-Roman mythology, Aphrodite had the power to give life to a statue.

Still, contrary to Pygmalion's woman, Diana wasn't created to be the "perfect bride" of any man.

(3) Diana, is the first of her kind, like Pandora.

Still, contrary to Pandora, Diana wasn't created by the Olympians as a "beautiful evil" whose descendants would torment men.

In the Golden Age origin, Diana was created by women (Amazons & Goddesses) to be a wonder woman like nobody before her.

I like a lot Brian Azzarello but his excellent story is more about an Elseworlds Amazon Princess becoming the new Goddess of War than about the origin of Wonder Woman, as the character was created in 1941.
