X-Men: Blue 008 (2017)

The return of Danger -AND ALSO POLARIS!- were the only curious elements with potential for fun reveal - after all the disappointing lack of exposition for the even more story curiosities from last issue. So technically, Magneto had not 1 but 2 surprises, in Danger AND Polaris, even though he spoke of 1 - since Fenris probably knew about Danger. Surely, Magneto did already, right?

•Dumb cover.
•Jean inconveniently only able to telepathically mask Jimmy along with here. Emma's strike team inconveniently incapable of locating 2 unaccounted for survivors. Convenient plot device scenario.
•Impressive healing factor showing for Jimmy.
•Matter-of-fact floating architecture of X-men cities continues to bug me.
•Emma desperately wants Young Scott to like her even if she has to make him - and she does. She saaays she has mutant interests at heart. Her motivations are suspect and she doesn't put any stock in the other 3 male X-men prisoners.
•nb: Emma powerful enough to turn off Scott's power (which seemed a bigger deal back in the Claremont/Byrne days when Phoenix did that to Scott).
•nb: Precident now that X-men have Power Dampeners Tech that can shut off spellcraft.
•Hank, Bobby, & Warren are all useless and glass half empty here.
•nb: Briar has Shi'ar Wetware that is even more impressively psi-proof than Pyschic Defenses and Mag Helmets.
•Havok following orders to sweet talk Hellfire Club member, Briar, into turning on Magneto (who was having her babysat). She seeems more important a character than previously portrayed - for no apparent reason yet.
•Oooooh... HydraCap went to Mags with the New Tian plans and Red Skull skull to make a pact to STAY OUT of HydraUSA. In fine characterization, especially compared to the guppy Namor, Magneto is willing to surreptitiously backstab the evil Nazi leader and his anti-mutant bent.
•Better than nothing clues leading up to the surprise reveal of Danger.
•Angel, Rahne & Sarah's attack was too short to pan or praise. It was more disappointing to get less than nothing on the 4 pages with them than only 2 pages of the title characters of Hank, Bobby, & Warren earlier. More reason to hate another S.E. crossover.
•nb: Impressive showing for Danger with so much she does. The point that really bugs me is the Transformer-esque mass differential is too easypeasy - at least without explanation since there is some related Marvel precident with other characters.
•Great last page surprise. If we get next to nothing on her since her Universe 7 death at Incurison in the next issue that will be more disappointment with this title.
•Nice Jim Lee card set.
