The return of Danger -AND ALSO POLARIS!- were the only curious elements with potential for fun reveal

    Quote:
I was unfamiliar with Danger but now I'm a fan. I got the feeling her personality was modeled on Charles Xavier's - although, if this were the DC Universe, I would say she was modeled on Alfred Pennyworth.

Alfred is a saint compared to her, imo.

•nb: Emma powerful enough to turn off Scott's power (which seemed a bigger deal back in the Claremont/Byrne days when Phoenix did that to Scott).

I was thrown off by this at first. But then this next revelation came along.

•nb: Precident now that X-men have Power Dampeners Tech that can shut off spellcraft.

    Quote:
So then I was thinking the power dampeners had turned off Scott's power. After all, Emma runs the place, so it would be perfectly legitimate to say that she had turned off all of the X-Men's powers (by commanding that it be done via the power dampeners).

    Quote:
But then I recalled that some sort of stray energy discharge came out of Scott's visor when he complained of his power not working. This doesn't seem to jibe with how the power dampeners apparently work.

    Quote:
So then I went back to being confused.

D'oh! Yeah, the other 3 have the same collars, so, maybe no psi was involved with Scott's involuntary power. So, X-folk have tech that totally shuts off normal powers, involuntary powers, cosmic Black Vortex powers, and spellcraft. Hmmph. And the X-men have mutants suffering from lack of control issues. And they have precident that they have tech that can alleviate that suffering where obviously all previous super-psi showings have failed too. Hmmph. You're right, this scene adds another layer of confusing X-Bullpen coordination.

•nb: Briar has Shi'ar Wetware that is even more impressively psi-proof than Pyschic Defenses and Mag Helmets.

    Quote:
I have no idea who she is but I like her.

She really seemed such a minor regular cast member in the making from Mags defunct series. By the end she seemed destined to be as memorable a part of his life as Lee Forester was. ie. not much.
