No. He didn't really have any nuance until Claremont. He was a pretty typical bad guy before that.


Roy Thomas actually did something a little bit different with him, and he gave him a little bit more nuance. He also highlighted his intelligence. And that was the first time that we saw Mags without his helmet. He was a typical bad guy, but he did have his moments. I personally prefer a more ruthless Magneto, but one who still has some humanity left. The Fatal Attractions incarnation, for example.
