Quote:X-Men: Blue 010 (2017)
Quote:Is anyone else reading this and finding themselves half focussed on finding all the deliberated attempts to emulate -if not downright copy- all the X-men elements that made the Claremont/Byrne days great? It's... disconcerting.
Trying to emulate the Claremont/Byrne era is never a disconcerting thing. It would be disconcerting to not.
Quote:And then there's awkwardness of Lorna feeling comfortable calling Magneto by "DAD"
( without quotations marks!)!
I didn't get the feeling it was said in comfort.
Quote:Still, it managed to be a more interesting read than Xmen Gold this month! (With content, quantity and caveats.)
It definitely was more interesting.
Quote:-A rare 2 page conversation between dad and daughter. (Even if it felt like an exact transcript of Mags recruiting Psylocke on his UXM *koff* team.
Quote:-Jean and Scott channeling Jean and Scott. Sigh. They try to explain their psychic rapport which is imporant. (Even if it's contrived - either they share each other's thoughts 24/7 or they don't. They say they do but the dialogue suggests they don't.)
It's not a 100% sharing. Never implied to be (wasn't even in the dreaded 90s). And Jean was always the dominant partner in the JeanScott Entity. Also, it's a new sitch for both of them, so it wouldn't be as complete as it was circa 90s X-Books (and let us hope it never gets to that point again). Lastly, we're only hearing dialogue, which doesn't mean much. By definition, it's highly selective.
Quote:-The HQ is typically attacked but the line up is interdimensionally? inter-reality? interesting. (Pending people posting what we should already know about them.)
Wonder if that is THE Bloodstorm or another Bloodstorm.
