If we can't have Reed and Sue, maybe we have Jean and Namor?

Yes!

A post below convinced me that Namor and Jean could be an amazing couple.

Yes yes yes!

Although they have no real shared history, he was a recent host of the Phoenix, just like her. Although I REALLY hope we won't have any more Phoenix stories.

Every history has to start somewhere.

Oh, and because I love this new motto: NEVER ANY PHOENIX!

So Jean, Namor, Johnny and Ben? Could be kind of great, in my opinion.

I'd rather see Johnny and Ben in a book all their own. I wonder if Marvel will ever give this a try. But of course this begs the question of what Jean and Namor would be doing when they aren't being lovebirds. Hmm. What if we added Zemo? I wish I could take credit for the Zemo notion but I'm actually stealing it. Nevertheless, Zemo would come on board with an agenda and that right there (an agenda) is precisely what our hypothetical comic would need. Say - we could add Moonstone and have sort of a Frightful Four! (Heavier on the X chromosome than Stan and Jack's version but hey, this is the 21st century.) I think Jean would frustrate Moonstone to no end because Moonstone couldn't possibly manipulate an Omega level telepath.

I think writers are reviving her to breath life back into the X-Men franchise, but Jean never thrived in the X-Men. The best thing for the character is to get her away from that toxic swamp. Her first story should be a metaphorical road trip, getting her accustomed to the current state of the Grey family (so sad), the Avengers, Inhumans, X-Men, etc before deciding to make the Baxter Building her home.

I wouldn't do a road trip, literally or figuratively. Stories like that are the kiss of death from a sales perspective. The only character who made the road trip idea work was Conan. Also, being an Omega level telepath, Jean could bring herself up to date on the state of the world in a matter of minutes while sitting in her living room.
