Ugh, I hate to undermine my own point but the Grey Gargoyle's point is sound. They are already backtracking on Wanda's growth, with having her possessed during Civil War and what looks be in a relationship with Doctor Voodoo. Come on man, at least let her enjoy the vibe she earned from her solo for a year or so before you bury her back up with crap.

Thanks. \:\-\)

Poor Jean & Wanda appeared at the same time in comics and they were supposed to be the opposite of one another ("mind over matter" vs "randomness").

It is so true that Wanda replaces Jean as a psychokinetic in the MCU.

Unfortunately, after Stan Lee, writers have never known what to do with the two characters.

To give more edge to Jean, they gave her a telepathic ability when Professor X temporarily disappeared. Curiously enough, nobody thought that her telekinetic power alone could make her badass.

Wanda was evolved into a more traditional witch (by linking her birth to Chthon and by making Agatha her mentor).

Curiously enough, both women continued to have similar fates. Much later, they were both turned into living weapons of mass destruction.
Both times, they were pencilled by John Byrne.
