This wasn't a bad issue... if only there were any point to it. Everybody is back home by the end. So, basically, this was just a filler issue to a story that should have ended last issue. And absolutely nothing interesting happens. The team being stuck on some Negative Zone planet could have been an interesting multi-issue story.
Hilariously stupid that the people NOT wearing scarfs over their head and faces are the people that needed it most. Yes, Kitty, sit their and whine instead of using your powers to get you and your boyfriend the heck out of there. And why the heck isn't Armor using her Armor? It really doesn't make much sense that Storm can't control the weather on this planet. Plot contrivance.
Quote:2pgs - Powerless Storm vs giant 'Dune' worm is the entire action for the ish. Lone superhero against overwhelming foe. Typical superhero action for this medium so it's fine in that sense. Storm is normally capable. It just felt a little less convincing than, say a scenario like, Powered-up Storm vs a giant Sentinel.
Hey, she does something!
Quote:1pg - Dramatic 'Colossus dying' scene. It looked believable. And laudible set up motivation for last page impulse surprise.
Quote:1pg - Ink psi-links rejoining team easypeasy deusmachina breezy.
It's a fairly typical thing telepaths do.
Quote:2pgs - Kurt not only wants to be an ace pilot, he wants to be a expert transdimensional technician too. Plus, Ink goes off to play human cargo flyer to get Piotr back for med aid, easypeasy deusmachina breezy. Presumably - speed wasn't a factor and he was less tired than the girls and carried him at their speed to ease their way back since they arrived together. Meanwhile Kurt was being techy and OML was still standing around and jibbering with Hisako *rolls eyes*.
Quote:1pg - Storm proves the writer wrong. She has a spark afterall. She thought Logan would be proud of her against the worm but he probably would have instead told her to snap out of it and lightning bolt it. Well at least they didn't have Ink charge the thingamajig.
*gasp* Plot contrivance!
Quote:1pg - Kitty turns the table. Isn't it romantic? Is it romantic? They did seem to put more effort into the visual that the rest of the servicably drawn ish. Maybe she should have got Ink to create some fireworks that he, no doubt, could have pulled off easypeasy.
Oh, so the whole being stuck in a sandstorm was for Kitty to realize she's stuck with Piotr forever. WTF?! Whatever. *grumblegrumble* I'd roll my eyes, but they're already rolled back into my head.
