Which of Peter David's X-Factors do you mean? The 1991 government-sponsored team (including Havok and Polaris and also Strong Guy, Multiple Man etc.) or X-Factor Investigations from 2005?

Both. I didn't even know there were two by Peter David but founding members of anything are excluded.

You know, I wrote that post and actually thought to myself, "Menshevik is going to question the premise of the thread."

In any case, I'd say Strong Guy (from the 1991 team) and Layla Miller (from the 2005 one) are actually pretty obscure.

Nah. Not at all. They were featured in lots of issues. Heck, if America's Captain knows exactly who they are without googling, it's a good bet they're not obscure. ("Layla knows things.")

But OK - are either of these characters favorites of yours?

Also, shouldn't one perhaps also at least exclude the founding members of
    Magneto's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants
    Mystique's Brotherhood of Evil Mutants
Sebastian Shaw's Inner Circle of the Hellfire Club?

OK. Exclude them too.

So now that you've picked the requisite nits - Who are your favorite obscure mutants?

What is she up to? The last time that I remember seeing her was during Brubaker's run. What about Lady Mastermind (Martinique.)? I think that she can actually make for a pretty good, ruthless villain. Lady Mastermind we have seen much more of.
