Frankly, Morrison's version made a lot more sense to me considering how Emma began. Lobdell's Emma was way too goody two-shoes. For a while, I thought part of Jean got stuck in Emma when Jean almost died saving her.

I may be dreaming this, but I could swear there was at least a hint that at some point when Jean went away for some reason (something Phoenix-related I think) she did something to Scott telepathically to nudge him toward a romance with Emma. Am I dreaming or did this actually happen?

Assuming my recollection is somewhat reality-based, I wouldn't be schocked if Jean did something similar to Emma. That's what I always suspected, because Emma just seemed so obsessively into Scott yet somehow it rang just a little bit false, like it shouldn't be happening yet it was. But here's the thing: Emma is an Omega-level telepath. She would probably notice if Jean did something of that sort to her. But what if the possibility you raise, Black Guardian, turned out to be true? That little piece of Jean that got stuck in Emma would very possibly be predisposed toward wanting to be with Scott.
