This might have been answered before either on here on the page but I don't know for sure, so I'm gonna ask...
Looking through my boxes yesterday, and saw that when Eva Bell was jumping around the future during the ANX/UXM annuals, she arrived in a future where these very War of the Worlds looking tripod things are destroying cities. I thought about it and remembered that around Captain America Reborn or maybe Who Will Wield the Shield, Steve Rogers had a vision of the same thing.
Was this ever explained or touched on again besides these two issues? Do we know what happened? Or any ideas?
