Starbrand and Nightmask 001
page 5 panels and someone's SPOT ON review:
Since their overstepped reimagining back into the main MU, their repurposing had/has too many flaws.
The book seems to shout cosmic corniness but the cosmic clarity is far too lacking and the corny conversations are much to trying.
There's that too.
Doreen Green's one page brought more fun then they did for twenty. The mysteries of Imani and Teen "Wilson Fisk clone" were more interesting than this day in their life.
Also, surprisingly DaCosta got good facetime while admirably representing the New Avengers. Mentioning S.P.E.A.R. and Gilstrap from Avengers 34.1 was okay too.
Fair call. The offputting 8 MONTH GAP doesn't help their status setup for this premiere either.
The repurposed Terrigenized Blizzard is still not appealing in anyway. (As annoying as copyplotting from the TV Agents of SHIELD can be, their take on Donny Gill would have been a better to reimagining.) After that, there's too much time for building the shock value of revealing the main 2 villains and hinting at their mysterious puppet master - instead of convincing readers how Hall and Hunter are Omega Level threats and compelling with a cosmic cliffhanger here.
