Subject: What Was The Deal With How Bendis Wrote Hawkeye? Didn't He Seem A Little Bit Kill Happy? Posted Thu Jul 27, 2017 at 09:08:50 pm CDT (Viewed 340 times) |

I remember that there were a few times during the Bendis era where Hawkeye seemed a little bit- I guess nonchalant about killing or using lethal force. During the Secret Invasion (Although those were Skrulls.), and didn't he also try to kill Norman Osborn during Dark Reign? Those are the only two that come to mind, were there more? Was this out of character for Clint? I remember that Clint killed Egghead, but that was by accident (More or less.). Maybe Clint dying took a toll on him. But was this strange for Clint?

Subject: Yes, it was strange. I, too, explained it by "dying" taking a toll. [Re: Comicguy1] Posted Fri Jul 28, 2017 at 06:51:33 am CDT (Viewed 253 times) |

I just assume the Hawkeye we've seen since Thunderbolts volume 1 ended has been a Skrull. ![]()

Well, the gun that Reed built in Secret Invasion #5 caused all Skrulls in a certain radius to transform back to their default shapes. It revealed Skrull-Mockingbird (on Clint's arm), Skrull-Jessica Jones, Srull-Carol, Skrull-Sue, Skrull-Emma, and Skrull-Thor. Clint remained human. Maybe he was the Skrull smart enough to also pack an image inducer? City of Heroes is BACK!

The shape shifting bomb that stole the Skrull powers back in the 80's and was only cured by Sy'bl's touch never affected Lyja while she was Alicia Masters. Contemplator was retconned into being a Skrull back in Englehart's Slver Surfer run well after the fact in Gruenwald's Quasar even though much of the Contemplator's plan in Silver Surfer relied on the fact that Elders of the Universe have a deal with Death that makes them immortal. Writers write what they want. Quote: Maybe he was the Skrull smart enough to also pack an image inducer?![]()

That's cuz Bendis craps all over the established elements of classic characters as he's incapable of writing real heroes, just sullen self centered people. Oh well, write what you know, I guess.
