Did you get yours?

It's double-sided. One side is the alternate time line version of the Avengers #1 cover (it has Voyager on it). The other side is a cool George Perez image which I've attached below.

Regarding the Perez image:

1. Hey Reverend - Gilgamesh is included!

2. Bah - Doctor Druid isn't. Curses!

3. It's a Wasp many costumes extravaganza! Love it. Love her.

4. Hank Pym appears in several of his various guises. He's not pimp-slapping anybody. He's just there and proud as he should be. Take that, Shooter. Pffft!

5. I think that's Namor with the long hair and goatee. Very Aquaman-esque.

6. The Vision is very prominent, as he should be. Thank you, George. At least YOU remember.

7. The entire Fantastic Four are there. Reed has Sue in one arm and She-Hulk in the other. You are a stud, Reed.

8. Starhawk and the original Guardians of the Galaxy are there. I didn't know they were Avengers. Very educational poster.

9. Moon Knight and Darkhawk are there. I didn't know they were Avengers. This poster is like a crash course in Avengers lore.

10. I think that's Hyperion next to Gilgamesh. Right?

11. Thunderstrike! Love that guy. Didn't always. Do now.

12. Swordsman! I love his costume. Always did. Always will.

13. Rage is there. Triathlon isn't. Thank you George. Yes, Kurt, your story line was stupid. The Black Panther is there. The Falcon is there. Photon is there. War Machine is there. So that's five black Avengers. Triathlon was a bit late for the revolution, Kurt. Go back to sleep. (Googled him to make sure he wasn't dead or dying, as would be my luck.)

14. Spider-Man is there. Wolverine isn't. That's odd. Luke Cage and Jessica Jones aren't there either. The original Spider-Woman isn't there. But the Spider-Woman some of us like better is there. Let me just say: sometimes, my friends, force works.

15. I think that's Wonder Man with some woman draped around him. I don't know who the woman is.

16. Two Gun Kid is there. But of course he is. George would obviously include him.

Thoughts?

By the look of the costumes - note the many bomber jackets - I suspect this picture dates back to the early 1990s. Maybe it was made for the 30th anniversary of the Avengers in 1993?

Isn't that Triathlon beneath Thor? I don't remember him much (stopped reading the Avengers around the time he joined), but the triangle symbol on his helmet would seem to fit him better. And didn't Rage wear a ski-mask/luchador mask kind of thing that covered his entire face?

AFAIK Luke Cage and Wolverine only became Avengers in 2005, Jessica Jones and Spider-Woman I in 2009/10.

Perez did this poster for the 30th anniversary in 1993.

It's Perez, therefore it's beautiful, but c'mon, Marvel! Do you actually care so little that you won't even make something new?

Here's the original:

Yes, it´s an old image way back from the 90th, the 30th anniversary of the Avengers. Most of the current Avengers aren´t there. Left to Gilgamesh is Dr. Druid, on the right is Charlie 27 from the original Guardians.
And yes, they weared these leather jackets, ha!

Funny, again and again, Unus is named here at the Avengers message board. Didn´t know, he had a daughter.

Hey, have a look, long ago, when the Avengers weared the leather jackets, I drawed this picture, Unus and Doc Savage become Avengers!! Oh, man, I never let Marvel know about this. What do you think?

Was very happy to pick this one up. Probably more so than the actual comic.

It is definetly Rage under Thor as Triathlon wasn't created until Volume #3 in 1998.

Im glad I wasn't the only one here that thought it was cool.

Nothing beats Perez's take on the Avengers.

Wow I thought Doctor Druid looked like the image below. But I see now the underlying costume is as depicted in the poster image under discussion. I was always so fixated on the bald head, beard, and cape, that I was missing the underlying outfit.

Oh - is this an old image? But it has Spider-Man on it.

Nice art work! Doc Savage would have made an excellent Avenger. Unus, I'm not so sure about.

Now that I've displayed my ignorance for all to see - again and as usual - I find myself wondering WHY this particular image was chosen. Yes, it's pretty, and maybe that's all the reason Marvel needed. But could there be clues in this? Why choose this particular era?

Also - why was Spider-Man in it? I thought Bendis was the first to put Spidey on the team.

According to wikipedia, he became a reserve Avenger in Avengers #329 (February 1991), along with Rage and Sandman.

50th Anniversary would have been better though still missing members i suppose it would have been to large even as a fold out.

That´s for sure a great one! Great to see so many of our beloved Avengers together! Anyone missing? With the blue shirt, that is Amadeus Cho? The flying red woman is Madame Web? (Julia Carpenter)
What about:
Rick Jones
Vladimir the living bomb and Fury, the monster
Moira Brandon
The members from Avengers A.I.
Living Lightning
Prince of orphans
A guy named Flux??
Frogman II (seen in the spider island special?)
The Great Lakes Avengers (Squirrel Girl)
The Young Avengers
Maria Hill, Sharon Carter
Medusa and the members of A-Force?
Would be Marilla there if she wasn´t murdered? Though she´s no Avenger
Oh well there were so many in the Avengers resistence and the academy!

Avenger X and Voyager (ha!)

Though I loved the U.S.Agents Dark Avengers, I don´t count them and all the other Dark Avengers or Taskmaster or M.O.D.O.K. as Avengers

Ah! So that explains Sandman also.

I bet Spidey was only made a reserve member so Marvel could feature him in pix like this one!

I don't count the Secret Avengers when Maria Hill was in charge.

I think the excuse was that some Avengers, though honorary, their status was a long time ago. EX. Guardians of the Galaxy, so Moira would fall under that category.

I count Maria Hill as an Avenger, she was the leader of the team for a short time. Medusa, Dazzler, Singularity, Elsa, Nico , Thor Dazzler, Avengers A.I. and Great Lakes Avengers came after the poster.
