The story likable enough, with its simplicity, and a change towards a more desired artstyle, with admirable effort... Gotham City Sirens 16 http://www.dccomics.com/dcu/comics/?cm=15548 ![]() Also liked: -the cover -the opening metaphors of CW's thoughts -the detail of the mind-dream border -the use of the Batcharacters appearing, especially Z (though a locale given for B&R wouldn't have hurt) -the listen-to-me gag with Harley was cute (though done to death with so many panels alotted just to that) -the reference to last arc crisis and story flow into this one -the hate felt from I for Z -the limitation added to using magical mental blocks -the focus on Catwoman (so, Ivy is ticked, Harley is pals, Z is tolerant, Talia respects, the big bad mind reader wants wants to hurt her) Still work to do to make the series a must read, for example: -so, is Alfred in the Mansion above the Cave or the lavish Penthouse above the Bunker? -Batman has a MAGICAL ACTIVITY DETECTOR now? Not crazy about that unless much limitations will be added -hmmm... the Batmobile has a new hood grill? Also not sure how often previous artistic license has given the Batmobile a (clearly more secure but) hard to imagine quickreleasing seatbelt - or Alfred so much neck flab -undecided on their slob lifestyle 'til some of their POV is offered -rarely like how Z's spells are presented in a just-read-it-and-like-it way; for example(not that a JLAer shouldn't beat a villainess) if Ivy still had her mind couldn't she still mentally command plants? -it was lacking in the big fight choreography (though it was easy enough to follow) -so, not sure if Dick called Black Widow ..oops.. Talia as the backup; is she part of The Network http://www.comicboards.com/batman/files/marq07.JPG now despite the nasty stuff done in other titles? Or does she show up following her unsolicited interrogation and the inadequate reader's-clue that big bad wanted TIME and not Selina? a href=http://weeklycomicbookreview.com/2010/10/04/gotham-city-sirens-16-review/ I miss my brother. | ||||
