Harley Quinn 023 (2017)
The bodacious Mr.Cho variant should've been the main cover! Very satisfying way to keep the Sinn sublot sailing along and put a pin in it at the same time. "AMBUSH HUG" perfect pun panel with Mason. Harley's comical catchphrase catterwauling is in overdrive this ish, too! Bernie and Nathan and that hot dress! Goat Boy gets more three dimensional characterization with his amicable "guest" role. Smaltzy but perfect preaching page about respecting diversity and yourself. Very satisfying Spoonsdale Vs DePerto bathroom faceoff. Meet the parents - and what believable parents they are! Red visits Ivy and believably tease about some sorta surprise for their Harley. Clock King and Sportsmaster crash the party for an exciting cliffhanger and laughable reaction by SM that HQ is there (no doubt to crash their skulls). An entertaining chapter.
The ongoing flashback was more ongoing slapstick fun - but in it's own thematic cartoony way. Like and dislike it. It could be canon but also could not be canon but is should not be a regular part of the basic title -interpretation- of Harley. It's nerve wracking enough to choose to/I> rationalize and justify investing 2 clearly different iterations of this bad girl, here and in her Suicide Squad book. This is a credit to both of these adventures being currently entertaining in their own way. But this backup is like forcing another take on the reader/patron because DC forces 2 different takes in the same book and takes pages (and fun) away from the main story version. Trying to concurrently appreciate Conner and Dini and Williams three different versions of how the sweet and sexy and scary and slapstick our psycho chick should be, is... driving me crazy.
