No. Just no. King had done so well with the last couple of issues, but this one, no.
The Who.e plot is some rich kid wants to be Bruce Wayne, so he works with his butler to kill his parents. Frames Zzaz and Two-Face. Bruce figures it out. Captures kid who carves the name Thomas and Martha on his face. He kid is like 10.
This just does not work. It is Hush and Tommy Elliot all over again. Second, what do you do next? Who is afraid of a 10 year old kid? They are going to write Arkham letting a kid escape? Sorry, a bridge too far.
Also the Art was not good. Bruce’s suit looked lumpy. The faces wer not expressive, and with a story this thin, extra pressure is put on the artist to amp up suspense. I was not amped by the suspense.
I read a lot about this King’s first villain of his own. This kid is not a keeper.
Or I could be wrong.
