The shot heard around the world of Gotham...
Detective Comics 973
Whoa! Last issue's cover makes a lot more sense now! Kathy Kane is batass ..err.. badass! Now, DC could change Basil's apparent end and save Clayface but as of right now that Dirty Harriet ending looked like a true killshot. If he is dead, then it would open the door to many interesting and intriguing character dynamics and storylines going forward.
This was a very engaging (penultimate chapter?) read. Every one of the Batcast got even amount of facetime and played their roles convincingly. It was an exciting read - wondering which way it would go. Okay, Batwing was a copycat merge of Iron Man topped off with a cheezy X-men "Blue and Gold" team (homage? parody?) topical naming of the Batsuits http://imgwiz.com/Smg - but the DCU would have the same, and may've had the same tech-xpertise precident, so it's forgivable. And that Origin of the Belfry flashback was welcome and smart part of the story. It might be a good thing if they phase out the next-wave fantastic Mud Room resource. It felt a relief and organic that Anarky 'smartened up' when it came to First Victim. It was satisfying that Batman personally fought the megasized murderous malleable monster with the Batmobile instead of fists and Batarangs. Okay, it would've been nicer if he added an order to have the JLA on standby after the A.I. maneuver. Cassie's efforts and tears were heartfelt. Can't wait to hear from fans and see what reprecussions DC gives to Batwoman after that brilliant final shot (pun intended).
I miss Dad & Dan.
