Detective Comics 974 (2018)

Clayface IS dead. Poor Basil, waylaidd from his path to redemption. (However, let's hope Basil doesn't return anytime soon that would cheapen this arc. Glory can predictably become the new Clayface in spite of her apparent and ill-gained cure.)

This was a heartfelt aftermath issue. It was a characterization spotlight of each and every member of the Bat-Family. All reacting to Batwoman killing Clayface to save Gotham. And their reactions to the her action felt pretty spot on for the most part complete with emotional waterworks and passings of judgement. We also get a good scene with Dr. October and Glory Griffin and, later, an intriguing next phase proposition for Kate from her dad. The Epilogue is added to tie in all the Doomsday Clock Event that is concurrently happening. All in all a good read with excellent art that just added another level of reading fun to the drama.

Nice appropriate homage done on the main cover.
