In spite of the high price, I picked it up this morning and read the first two stories so far. Reading the Brian Bendis story reminds me of everything I don't like about today's Batman comics (and also Brian Bendis). Most of the "Batman Family" shows up at a crime scene and we get to see Damian, Jason, Spoiler, Batgirl using their witty dialogue with each other, being obnoxious. This is what I dislike about both the Batman titles these days and Brian Bendis' work.

I wish they would come up with a reason to get most of those characters out of Gotham City and away from Batman. The fewer characters who are a part of his inner circle, the better. He should be as close to a loner as possible. I get Damian being around because he's Bruce's son, and I also understand Dick Grayson being there because he grew up with Bruce in Gotham City (not sure if he still resides in Bludhaven or not). The rest of them, I wish they would find new cities to live in. Jason seems like the type who would wander the country like a nomad, and Tim and Spoiler should just go to college in California or something. I'm not sure if that's the Barbara Gordon Batgirl or what, but I wouldn't mind seeing her leave the canvas as well.

And Bendis! I hate the way this guy writes groups. Everybody has to be witty. It seems like he usually has characters arguing over the last slice of pizza or who forgot to flush the toilet.
