Is there any reason why Michael Jai White would NOT be perfect for this? You've got the right physique, numerous martial arts mastery, screen presence, and enough experience in movies to do the acting bit.

I've seen him in interviews. All he has to do is be himself and he's good to go.

I dunno. I think Chiwetel Ejiofor, who played the Operative in Serenity would be better suited. T'Challa is a cultured genius as much as he is a fighter, after all.

I am the person who has never seen Serenity, so it would be stupid for me to say anything about Chiwetel Ejiofo. I will just say that an actor should be able to play any character. In Universal Soldier 3, he was very effective as the voice of the sentient computer.

Now, when he got into his prefab body, that performance turned into . . . . well, he made JC Van Damme and Goldberg both look like actors.

That was the director's fault.

I'm reminded of Tyrese Gibson being cast as Luke Cage. He said, "I'll probably be benching 400 by then."
It makes me weep when these actors have NO idea about any of it.

Folks, I WARM UP with more than 400 lbs. That's not a lot for a guy who is 200 lbs. Luke Cage is HUGE. I don't look like anything. Cage should be played by someone who could compete as a bodybuilder. Flex Wheeler (while he was still on steroids and before he turned pro and lost what had made other pros gape), Ronnie Coleman, Dexter Jackson, that kind of build.

I'm talking about Luke Cage here, not T'Challah.

Terry Crews would be great.

and he isn't that great of an actor. He wouldn't not be a good draw for the movie and which wouldn't do BP any favors. Chiwetel Ejiofor is a better actor, can do martial arts and would be more of a draw. Most of all his starring role in a movie wouldn't give it an automatic B-movie status.

He was also in Amistad, American Gangster, Children of Men to name a few more movies you might have seen.

T'Challa is very agile and definitly limber, hence, the actor should be a gymnast as well as a proficiant martial artist. I see T'Challa as neither this 6'0" muscle bound brawler, nor, a danty aristocrat with a few good moves. I think what we need here people is a diamond in the rough, an uknown with flare and talent. Some one who can make the world believe that he is of noble blood and can thrash you with words while pommeling you from all angles as he deals with other pressing matters on his Kimoyo.

That's a funny response.

Michael Jai White is muscular but not muscle-bound. He is a master of several martial arts. Can't do any martial art without being limber and quick.

It amuses me when people see a super-muscular person and immediately cast aspersions.

Chiwetel Ejiofor whom is Nigerian, would be perfect due to his background. Micheal Jai White has a great physical presence, as for Storm Nona Gaye, Halle Berry was an awful choice.

Another choice for T'Challa would from 300 and The Incredible Hulk, he is of Ghanian perantage. He has very strking features, the feel of the movie is that the Wakandan nation has never been ruled by europeans.

It could be like a nation that is very Zionist, in terms of how its people view the world and the other nations within its own continent.

Micheal Clarke Duncan as Silver-Back i.e. Man-Ape, unless he is Wilson Fisk again?
