Wow, what a different an issue makes. Loved #1. Did NOT at all love ... but also did not mind...

X-Men: Worlds Apart #2

Okay, there was good art, good action, good developments but too little things that were hard to swallow.

The Morlocks should be gone and disbanded by now instead of resurfacing in numbers only to preserve their trademark. It seems like the story called for a generic big team threat of low level supervillains and since Morlocks are synonymous with Xmen it ends up a transplanted Cyclops in the sewers of NYC. Kudos on the illusion that he went full out when obviously Erg and the boys will resurface when a story needs Morlocks. Maybe their next appearance will actually tie up the loose ends from the Delphi and prophecy Book circa Uncanny 290.

So much for psi defenses when you need them. Forget if Cyke told Emma where he was going. Though Shadow King IS a force to be reckoned with.

So much for Black Panther's foresight to prepare for psionic based attacks. Though Shadow King IS a force to be reckoned with.

Shadow King did an very good job of giving Storm a hard time. Her use of mutant powers seemed to waver from insanely destructive to The A-Team destructive intent. (Liked the skin graft comment.)

Nehzno was characterized nicely all thru!

Appreciated the many details of Wakandan setting including at least one word balloon with translation brackets.

Uhhh hasnt Ororo heard of a telephone? Cell phone? Seriously why didnt she call for help or call to warn the Xmen. Because Storm is a force to be reckoned with?

And the BIG example of 'SHEESH!' was her ability to specifically detect Scott's Blackbird across the Atlantic Ocean and deal precisely with it. Yep, guess Storm IS a force to be reckoned with!

How'd she deal with the mind controlled Scott you ask? SHEEEESH she blew the guy up! Blow'd up real good! Wasted splash page and all. Oh and she regrets it not one bit KNOWING he most likely found a way to survive it by himself? ReallY?? C'mon. Storm IS a that much of a force to be reckoned with? Her and Iceman should have an Omega Level contest.

Good fight choreography and pacing vs the Dora Milaje.

The ending was cliche but good and yet seemed like it would be the one for the penultimate chapter 3 instead of 2. Wonder what next issue's end will be.

What did you think?
