WHOA! This should get the BPMB traffic.

It's all Black Panther, Baby!
Well, at least for the set-up. On one hand a solo spotlight for the premiere of a team title seems a big... risk. They could have went with extra #1's to sell using (detestable) Prelude Specials or Point Ones but... whatever. This was fast paced and still felt chalk full of some new... stuff to soak in. In the end it was a good read with promising potential.

The bullets that can be discussed...
• Proper recap with the Illuminati origin and the sanest reaction belonging to T'Challa.
• Pointless prelude page set 26 hr before the actual story. It offers no orientation and presents Reed in a defeatist light. He would not normally be so surrending to death.
• THE GAMES: designed to find The Makers. Kinda like the aftermath of The Hunger Games? Golden Paradox, Artificial Man, some Wakandan words, all ideas thrown in that may or may not ever go somewhere - just like in the (disagreeable) SHIELD series.
• THE MAKERS: Kimo, N'Kono, and T'Dori. Intro of characters is a good thing - until well, y'know.
• Cool puzzle ceremony.
• T'Konda, aka The Wall, was a previous Black Panther apparently relation to one of the Makers but not T'Challa. His 'spirit' lives in BP which suggests his recent power-up in the Hickman FF run is still in effect.
• AWESOME art.
• Wakanda has Earth's preeminent space program??! That sounds so wrong and yet... oddly acceptable at the same time, ifffff the Earth is mostly unaware
• The Makers have unexplored techgear. One detects tremors before BP's senses possibly because of this.
• An portal materializes somehow. A rhino comes thru from somewhere. A tinted area appears or possibly overlaps the land and BP makes a bad call having them all 'enter'.
• Aliens arrive to threaten. Repetitive of the Avengers premiere last month in a (potentially redundant) way.
• BLACK SWAN: Intro of her and fellow alien followers of some higher force. Speaking many tongues incl. ancient Sumerian tongue is a significant clue. She shows more evil than Ex Nihlo by killing the (unfortunately) throwaway characters.
• PANTHER'S COSTUME: WHOA! He has wrist activated energy shield (bigger than Cap's). Limited payload/long range teleport wrist activated too (space/time tech just like Reed). And liquid forming on/off material (similar to IM had)!!!! Then apparently he has some phase of camoflauge ability now too. Leary should he continue on the path of overindulging on utility devices (don't want a cheap copy of Batman).
• Feel so sad for The Makers as plot device.
• It seems BS and BP are the only survivors in this clash. Not sure. Her plans and signal successfully sabotaged with a notable heroic showing for T'Challa.

NEWAVENGERSILLUMINATI

• Enter Illuminati or maybe they will logically go by 'New Avengers' in respect to... Marvel Marketing?
• BP definitely visits Bast for advice. Hmm... thought s/he had left T'Challa to his own devices after the powerup.
• Cue the six. Cap in for Xavier - yeah that'll be a fair trade off. And remind me when Namor was allowed in the country Storm is persona non grata? Interesting image choice with Stark arriveing unarmored. Can't wait to see continuity status with BlackBolt and Lockjaw.
