Wow. THREE books with Wakanda this month (so far)! Not only that but T'Challa scores solo spotlight on the cover - not that the poser shot necessarily did any justice to the young readers introduction to Korvac (and probably the GUARDIANS of the GALAXY?). As far as (simplified) re-imaginings go it was a fun and easy alt-origin - and yet with only superficial changes from the classic villain of The Avengers. BP astutely voices suspicions at the 'story' how Michael ended up at The Mansion. He helps confirm the cosmic evidence just before the GoG show up. In the cliche clash of teams, he manages to get a couple shots in at Adam Warlock using Wakandan tech before succumbing to the power of the Soul Gem. He awakens with everyone on a mental plane with both teams after Korvac knocked everyone out with ease. Everyone learns the origin of the foe just before they all get a chance to combine forces. Korvac takes all of the two teams out at once, including our hero king, but spares them for the sake of Corrina. He recovers just as quickly as the others but too late for a round 3. All in all an average showing for the cover scorer. Comments? ![]() I miss Dad and Dan. | ||||
