Infinity The Hunt #3

    Quote:

    INFINITY TIE-IN!
    • Thanos’ forces have attacked the Earth, but what part of his plan involves the super youth of the world?
    • See the attacks on the Avengers Academy, Jean Grey School, Future Foundation, Braddock Academy, Wakandan School of Alternative Studies, the Pan-Asian School for the Unusually Gifted and the Latverian School of Sciences!
    • The students at all of the world’s super schools try to put into play everything they’ve learned as they fight side-by-side with their super teachers!

WANT to like this series. Did NOT overall like this issue either.

All of these student factions separately and unilaterally rallying and coordinating defense against an out-of-their-league alien invasion with very little prep or concern that the battle field will be above and/or below the unsolid ocean surface is just difficult to accept at face value. The otherwise ecclectic and intriguing cast appears too large for the writer and artist to handle effectively as on average they barely get the quality or substantial facetime they deserve. Except Finesse she was a star of the issue showing her mad skills despite the circumstances.

Bringing in Shark Girl easy peasy seemed like X-franchise catering. And while a death was smart it was very unfair to see it was a new and 'aquatic' combatant like Loch got the tap. Why not the moloids who unfavorably stole their fish-kid classmates a time to shine and also oddly got props in the story title.

To be fair Asha, Block, and Bull got above average facetime but were less interesting than the brief history on The Red Rock of Wakanda. Their ultimate eagerness to team-up with the conveniently crashlanded kids from Pan-Asia to go help Wakandas hated enemies the Atlanteans felt more forced than noble. The adventure felt off paced that the other kids arrived on the scenes seemingly shortly after Pym was just getting up from last issue but this trio got on site almost simultaneously having time for their interim relocation.

Any other reactions?
