Subj: Priest's Portrayal of T'Challa Discussed In New Book Posted: Sat Dec 13, 2014 at 12:02:42 pm EST (Viewed 401 times)
Hello, Folks! It's been a LOOOOOONNNNNGGGGGG time since I've posted on these boards. I just wanted to let folks know that I have written a chapter about T'Challa in the new book, "Ages of the Avengers: Essays on Earth's Mightiest Heroes in Changing Times"! You can find the book here: http://www.amazon.com/Ages-Avengers-Essays-Mightiest-Changing/dp/0786474580/ref=sr_1_7_twi_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1418489342&sr=8-7&keywords=the+ages+of+the+avengers The chapter is called "The Spy King:: How Christopher Priest’s Version of the Black Panther Shook Up Earth’s Mightiest Heroes!†I talk about how Priest made the Avengers team, and Avengers title, and Marvel Comics portray the Black Panther as a strong, non-Western, complicated character--the same way he was created by Lee and Kirby and upgraded by McGregor. I discussed Priest's portrayal as the BC/AD mark for the character. (Hudlin fans: I do mention about his contribution, too.) THANKS for letting me share!
