Black Panther - World of Wakanda 006 (2017)




What a wonderful treat; this was NOT a Midnight Angels issue at all. It was a White Tiger spotlight and new direction set up for him. Never really followed his books at all, and yet this was a fine presentation of his current status with enough backstory shown that eliminated any need for "Who Is He?" questions for this tale. There was so many panels in the layouts and so much dialogue - which was worthwhile bonus. Plus, it had two notable supervillains in Cardiac and Vanisher involved - AND incarcerated! Sweet. A welcome done-in-one feel with fine visuals up to the last page decision for Kevin "Kasper" Cole as he looks at a new costume design that his benefactor, King T'Challa, presents him. Worth two ninety nine.

Sounds like he might be getting (hopefully not copying) an ANAD codename...

I speculate about his new codename.

I thought that his new codename might be Ghost Leopard, or Ghost Cat, or Grey Ghost, or Snow Leopard (because of his "Kasper" nickname).

He impersonated Black Panther. Then, he had the codename White Tiger, which is a rank in the Panther Cult.

Last but not least, Cole & Coal sound the same.

Not a bad theory. The only problem is that the new suit is white and "coal" when used was another term to represent the color black.

I'd say that it looks grey compared to the white tiger costume which Kasper Cole is wearing in the same issue.

Actually, it reminds me of the "happy pants" costume and the Death Tiger costume.

The only big cat of the genus Panthera with grey fur that I can think of is the Snow Leopard. Otherwhile, there is also the Clouded Leopard which belongs to the genus Neofelis. The Snow Leopard is also nicknamed the grey ghost cat of the mountains. In the Marvel Universe, the Snow Leopard alias is already used by a trio of obscure characters.
