Black Panther - World of Wakanda 006 (2017)
Quote:(W) Ta-Nehisi Coates, Rembert Browne (A) Joe Bennett (CA) Rahzzah
DEATH OF A WHITE TIGER!
• When a down-on-his-luck New York City narcotics officer was suspended from the force, he adopted the vestments of the Black Panther to do the right thing by his neighborhood and his burgeoning family. Mentored by both T'Challa and Erik Killmonger, he became something more than the sum of his parts. That was then.
• Now, Kasper Cole's days as the White Tiger are behind him and he can only watch helplessly as Wakanda burns halfway around the world, leaving Kasper completely disillusioned by a leader he once looked up to.
• Writers TA-NEHISI COATES (Black Panther) and REMBERT BROWNE (New York Magazine, Grantland) and fan-favorite artist JOE BENNETT (who drew Kasper back in the original The Crew series!) team up to bring Kasper Cole back into the spotlight...just in time to close the door on his story forever?!

What a wonderful treat; this was NOT a Midnight Angels issue at all. It was a White Tiger spotlight and new direction set up for him. Never really followed his books at all, and yet this was a fine presentation of his current status with enough backstory shown that eliminated any need for "Who Is He?" questions for this tale. There was so many panels in the layouts and so much dialogue - which was worthwhile bonus. Plus, it had two notable supervillains in Cardiac and Vanisher involved - AND incarcerated! Sweet. A welcome done-in-one feel with fine visuals up to the last page decision for Kevin "Kasper" Cole as he looks at a new costume design that his benefactor, King T'Challa, presents him. Worth two ninety nine.
Sounds like he might be getting (hopefully not copying) an ANAD codename...
