Black Panther 013 (2017)

    (W) Ta-Nehisi Coates (A) Wilfredo Torres (CA) Brian Stelfreeze
    • Eons ago, before Black Panthers, before Wakanda, before time itself...there were only the ORISHAS: Asali. Ogutemeli. Bast. The pantheon of gods and goddesses from which the world as we know it was manifested. But now, when Wakanda burns, they are silent. When she was flooded, they were silent. While her people war amongst themselves, ever silent they remain. Where have all the Wakanda gods gone? T'Challa means to find out...
    • New York Times Best-Selling author TA-NEHISI COATES (Between the World and Me) is joined by rising superstar artist WILFREDO TORRES (Moon Knight) for the kickoff of the next epic season of BLACK PANTHER!

-nice cover
-terrible segue from last issue's final page encounter Storm in the Mansion office to the opening scene here inthe NY Hotel Gansevoort ~ NO satisfying details at all regarding this (BTW, is the a REAL hotel?)
-neat detail with "Imperial Suite"
-Ororo is gorgeous. Probably a wig? Marvel should dump her return mohawk by now
-Ororo SEEMINGLY IGNORES their previous marriage by and 'effectively' agrees to this booty-call reunion considering their arguably messy(though mature) divorce ~ in hindsight didn't she use to trash her decision to marry him to her X-sisters in the X-books?
-Ororo DOES NOT DENY that she is a 'Goddess'
-theres a word that escapes me defining how gods are empowered by followers prayers, Ororo DOES CONFIRM that she has had that ability in the past ~ essentially and casually admitting to being a 'goddess' of a sort
-very cool introduction to the main Wakandan Gods of olde. So, BAST is not the same from Egyptian mythos afterall. Be neat to see when some other title (especially Thor's) acknowledge them too
-T'Challa distinguishes his dead Ancestor's from Necropolis apart from his Wakandan Gods realm or control ~ which is... curious
-Ororo sports ANOTHER WIG of dreadlocks when she talks to Eden later ~ is that just a diva-tude kicking in?
-what do you make the significance of her (newly revealed) AJA-ADANNA title to be?
-Shuri has another new power showing, now able to transform others into a murder of crows alongside herself ~ how 'bout that?!
-the SIMBI (Snake-men servants) of the Originators is an intriguing story set up and potential Omega-Levl high danger level for our heroes to face as they made for an exciting big fight sequence and scary last page ~ 'wrath of gods' scary

What do you think of the interpretation of Storm?
What do you think of the Wakandan Gods and the Simbi?
It's going to feel very uneven to call upon Luke Cage, at this point, to complete The Crew casting call... or maybe they can easily write him in cleverly?
