Black Panther and the Agents of Wakanda 002
Roz and Man-Wolf on pretty painted cover is DUMB!
Roll Call Page: Active Vs On-Call status is curious. Including the point of "TBD".
Good "Holodeck-ish" prologue misdirection and "stabbing" of Okoye.
Wasp/Iron Man relationship acknowledged outside Tony's book finally.
nb. Reminder that Wakanda has Helicarrier(s?).
Jan is not handicapped by intimidation by Amalgamated Pymtron. No footnotes to place this before or after the current arc where she actually encounters the Real McCoy.
nb. Avengers have (retroactively) had (proprietorial) Mind-shield Training. Very messy concept/idea to accept at face value considering all the times any amount of pyschic defenses would've been a gamechanger factor.
Huh, Amalgamated Sentryoid threat is the real one. Not sure if his "warps reality in his presence" is a power before or after the merging. Thor calls it a 'haphazard power'.
Fat Cobra gets the most spotlight this ish. He battles Sentryoid (with a forced familiarity) and has an impressive victory showing. Too impressive? Better chi powers (blecch) than Power Vic-Man and Iron Fist combined? He has some connection to Peng Lai, the Black Dragon of San Francisco (which didn't register with me).
nb. Fat Cobra has A LOT of wives and children. Over 30 people shown in panel alone. And you can't sizeshame the guy 'cuz he LOVES his "FAT" monicker/identity.
nb. Yet another lazy script descript of TWO more random Immortal Weapon maneuvers DU JOUR.
Thor shows up. Does that make him in any way an AoW now? The TBD of the ish? Thor Vs. Sentry for a few punches may be treat to some readers. However, it was with assisted distraction of other AoW and winning strike by Fat Cobra. Then, there's that weird possessing 'evil energy' ball with a snake face' that is removed from Sentryvoid? WTH? Then, FC channels LSH's Matter-Eater Lad and neutralizes the 'evil energy' ball in his stomach! Were YOU happy with all that?
AFSS and Abi Brand score a cameo and their Earth Defenses typical fail when they lose the bad guy getting away.
Dr. Strange scores a cameo before or after his Surgeon Surpeme change. It feels less a TBD showing than Thor's but who knows after that 'unofficial' Roll Call page explanation.
Weird last sentence line, by Broo, to evoke forboding. Maybe it was deliberately a bit wanting to set up the inspired next issue's title blurb that puns the classic Marvel Graphic Novel #5. Oh and Black Panther is in (charge) this ish, too.
