Black Panther 017
> THE INTERGALACTIC EMPIRE OF WAKANDA - TWO THOUSAND SEASONS PART 5! THE RETURN OF KILLMONGER! The Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda has come to Earth! And that’s not all. Someone has dug up the body of Eric Killmonger — and it’s about to fall into the hands of an angry god. It’s the end of an arc — and the end of an era for the Black Panther!

This was the 0-DAY replies to this issue @4channel for BPMB to consider and compare with your shared thoughts for this chapter...

BLACK PANTHER #17 clarification request. Anonymous 11/01/19(Fri)15:55:01 No.111064376 Archived

Since there wasn't a storytime for this can 4chan BP experts help clear things up? Now that the Empire storyline is over can somebody explain the Wakanda Space Empire? At some point in the past TChalla sent a party of his people thru a wormhole to some point that was aeons in the past... and forgot about them? That party grown to be the Empire that has been seen in the run for the past 12-15 issues. Then around issue #1, Tchalla and Manifold quickly came to be enslaved and memory wiped somehow and for some reason. Coincidentally many names in space were the same as characters on Earth we've read for decades. The king fought in the civil war against N'Jadaka and his superior forces eventually regaining his memory and control of the Empire. He returned home (as did the presumed dead N'Jadaka with help of his symbiote determined for revenge).

Space-Nakia, his new love and no relation to the Nakia that we've read about from Earth, remains to oversee unrest in the Empire. Ororo teleports to help her. Did Ororo teleport via Manifold? Has their calendar caught up to our Present? Isand while I'm asking stuff - when did this whole BP run take in relation to the Avengers title #ing???

And in some way, at some point in time, the Wakandan Panther Goddess Bast got tied up in all this - and took the weaker form of a little girl? N'Jadaka's symbiote went to Changmire's body and will probably go to Killmonger's next, right? Are those Empire troopers wormholing in to attack Earth on the last page?

Talk about convoluted! Unless of course, I'm way off the mark?

I dunno I stopped caring when I learned the empire spanned a galaxy within a few years

Same except I kept reading for a couple of issues more only to discover we really were supposed to ride or die with the storyline

It's not really that complicated. I'm assuming we're not up to present day just yet.

    >>111064412
I think you misread the story. The empire took generations to build. Thousands of years. T'challa's explorers went through a wormhole, back in time, and birthed a conquering empire.

Wait the Wakandan party that established the Empire went to the past? I thought they stayed in the present and that T'Challa and Manifold accidentally wound up in the far future which is why none of the other space empires have ever mentioned encountering Intergalactic Wakanda before

This seems like one of those things which will be totally ignored by all the cosmic writers.

Why does it seem like comic book fans don't like Black Superheroes atleast online? Black Panther is the most popular Black Superhero in the world but no one talks about it much except on cbr.com including black comic fans.

    >Now that the Empire storyline is over can somebody explain the Wakanda Space Empire?
    Yes
    >At some point in the past TChalla sent a party of his people thru a wormhole to some point that was aeons in the past...
T'Challa found what he believed to be the source of vibranium and sent a team of explorers to investigate. Unbeknownst to him, his team of explorers got sent back 2000 years into time via wormhole
    >and forgot about them?
After they didn't return T'Challa felt guilty and planned to find/rescue them. He was only supposed to be gon for 2 weeks. (See Shuri series) but he also got caught in time shenanigans and was also lost
    >That party grown to be the Empire that has been seen in the run for the past 12-15 issues.
Correct. They had a 2000 year head start with advanced tech.
    >Then around issue #1, Tchalla and Manifold quickly came to be enslaved and memory wiped somehow and for some reason.
    Correct.

    >Coincidentally many names in space were the same as characters on Earth we've read for decades.
The explorers told stories which became legends and the nuWakandans kept using their traditional names. Like how there's been like a million &^%$ers named James for centuries
    >The king fought in the civil war against N'Jadaka and his superior forces eventually regaining his memory
    Correct
    >and control of the Empire.
No. They were still at war. The Maroons (rebels) still have a long battle ahead but received morale boost because the Emperor was believed to be dead by them
    >He returned home (as did the presumed dead N'Jadaka with help of his symbiote determined for revenge).
Correct. Symbiote and god powers stolen from Bast.
    >Space-Nakia, his new love and no relation to the Nakia that we've read about from Earth, remains to oversee unrest in the Empire.
Correct. And because she didn't want to be second fiddle to a "goddess"
    >Ororo teleports to help her. Did Ororo teleport via Manifold?
    Wakandan/nuWakandan hybrid tech.
    >Has their calendar caught up to our Present?
    Yes.
    >Isand while I'm asking stuff - when did this whole BP run take in relation to the Avengers title #ing???
    No idea
    >And in some way, at some point in time, the Wakandan Panther Goddess Bast got tied up in all this
the Orisha (gods) went to space when they felt they were being worshipped by devout followers. This happened in the Avengers of the New World arc but wasn't fully revealed until current run issue 6
    >and took the weaker form of a little girl?
The Emperor took her god powers she took (possessed) his daughter like pottery
    >N'Jadaka's symbiote went to Changmire's body
    Correct
    >and will probably go to Killmonger's next, right?
Presumably, though it could be a solicitation fake out
    >Are those Empire troopers wormholing in to attack Earth on the last page?
    Correct
    >Talk about convoluted! Unless of course, I'm way off the mark
Not if you read the vol 1

I honestly only read BP at the end of secret war and never cared to follow up. But t'challa seriously thought it was a good idea to F-up the timeline and conquer an entire galaxy?

A freak accident caused the time travel shenanigans, T'chala is trying to deal with the fallout.

This takes place before the current X Men storyline?

    >This takes place before the current X Men storyline?
I think HoXPoX shenanigans began just before T'Challa returned to Earth because Storm was living in Wakanda in issue 14 and came back wearing X-clothes in issue 15 after T'Challa came home to give him some sex

What do we know about BP being captured and mindwiped? Did the symbiote that 'contained' Bast do it after issue#1 and will there be a deliberate connection to Knull likely? How crappy is this retcon that claims the Wakandan Space Empire conquered 5 galaxies (we never heard of since FF#1)... FIVE!?

    >What do we know about BP being captured and mindwiped?
Explained in the story, basically it's how the empire gets it's slave work force: capture aliens and "wipe" their minds so they only know slavery. Ocassionaly they have random flashes of past memories but they can't make sense of it because their memories have been extracted.
    >Did the symbiote that 'contained' Bast do it after issue#1
    Issue 6
    >and will there be a deliberate connection to Knull likely?
Not Knull related at all, I was trolling here >>111069466
    >How crappy is this retcon that claims the Wakandan Space Empire conquered 5 galaxies (we never heard of since FF#1)... FIVE!?
Don't get your panties in a bunch, it's fiction. You've never heard of Wakanda before FF1 either.

Same. And I bet after they all get their memories back, they'll all leave the empire making this whole arc pointless
