Deadpool #27 (2017)

> Steve Rogers is Captain America, the bastion of all that is good.
> He’s the kind of paragon who Deadpool could really take a lesson from.
> I’m not caught up on his recent comics, but I can’t imagine anything could change that.

This issue could've/should've been branded a SECRET EMPIRE EVENT prelude on the cover. That's what it was all about for any here without DP on their pull list. And you definitely should be reading Steve's CAP series title to understand what's going on with his storyline. Other than the excellent art and strong Coulson guest star presence, it didn't really excite me any about the upcoming crossover because as cool it would be for this to lead to Wade to be the ones to uncover the Captain HYDRAmerica plotline, that seems unlikely given the zero hype for this book. It's possible Phil will play a big part in the main series given the last page (poor man's version of Fury Sr. before Secret Invasion).

As for what happens: Three unclear superhumans dressed as Captain Americas (for some reason), from a future Secret Empire reality, time travel to the past to kill the "Hitler's Baby" that is Steve Rogers. Yep, more time travel fixer uppers. unimpressed chewing They fail against the 3-man team-up and Cap gets DP to kill 'em before any answers to their spoutings and warnings about the upcoming distopia. Yep, more blood on Steve's hands. unimpressed chewing

This promo poster is quite "the hook"...
