Subj: Falcon #3: PBP...

The gangland vista and ethnic overtones are the same, as #1-2, but this ish was marginally to much better than last one. Still a long way to go to keep it on the pull list. Here are just some PageByPage reactions to compare if your read it...
00 Good cover Strong grabber image.
RECAP Okay. Not sure what the nuance is with the story title. Sam's stupid suicide run during these gangs' doomed revolution - that can't be it?
01-02 New Sam flashback. Decent death/watercup analogy (metaphor?). Observational bookend for the ending. Guess Avengers clearance/Identicard doesn't count for much?
03-04 "Mayor" propositions Falc. This scene finally brings the interesting comic book twist to the unoriginal gangbusting of # 1-2. Sam bravely refuses.
05-06 Blackheart revealed (to Sam)! Minor demonbusting sequence. Not a convincing showing by Blackheart or the heroes but we see some action and determination.
07 Voodoo shows up (from last ish) with his green ghosts and owns the fight.
08-09 sam & Ray discuss their sitch & escaping. Sam's spot on but Ray is annoying to read. He fluctuates too randomly from steet-smart to smart-ass, talking with respect to talking out of turn.
10 The heroic duo tactic is to unheroically trash all the cops to get away? Lauryn Hill? Googling... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lauryn_Hill ...ah! Is that outerfringe feather design aerodynamically sound?
11 That smoke path is distracting. Falcon should've had the 'eagle eyes' to spot Dray on faraway rooftop - or better yet Redwing (who unceremoniously just shows up).
12-16 Back to generic gangbusting (as pedestrian as #1-2, sigh). Was Sam's new wannabe catchphrase about "a good lunch", fail or what?! Still no mention of Redwing's return to normalcy? Patriot's shield has energy blasting? Falc has blast pellets in his arsenal now? Sam never told Voodoo to call for backup now that he knows it's a demon threat? Falc gives a determined, whoa-worthy battle showing - that we don't really see on the last page of this sequence. Enchanted Dray is boringly underplayed.
17-18 Voodoo vs Blackheart rematch. Stalemate. This could have been so much more entertaining than it was.
19-20 Falcon solo vs Blackheart - [sarcasm]'cuz thats such a smart move[/sarcasm]. EEP! That's gonna hurt in the morning! Strong last page scenario, shocks and salvages, issue in some ways.
