(From Wonder Woman #75) The White Magician (a Wonder Woman foe) turns the powers of a boy, Brian Elliot, against him causing massive burns all over his body and leaving him to die. At the hospital it is revealed that circuitry has been fused to the boys body and he is on life support but his death is inevitable. Wonder Woman, feeling guilty, sends herself into another dimension, the Lair of Apollo, to retrieve a piece of Golden Fleece to heal the boy. When she finally comes back to the real world she is carrying a piece of the mystic wool that is able to not only heal the boy but separate the circuitry from his body and restore him to normal. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c366/troy2g1/ww009.jpg http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c366/troy2g1/ww010.jpg http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c366/troy2g1/ww011.jpg http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c366/troy2g1/ww012.jpg http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c366/troy2g1/ww017.jpg http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c366/troy2g1/ww018.jpg http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c366/troy2g1/ww019.jpg

How odd, I'm a big fan of Loebs Latter run but this one had completely skipped from my memory! Very nice feat and proof such an ability is nothing recently shoehorned in... This seems more like Astral projection in the Doctor Strange mold on the face of it but coming back with a piece of the Fleece puts it in a different category. It reminds me more of thhe physics of Freddy Kruegers dream dimension in fact. Nice scans thanx ![]()

Thanks! The cool part is this isn't a "one off" display -- she has performed similar feats before even forcing her body through the projection and literally manifesting her full physical form in the new location (her body actually completely disappeared from Earth).

Is the whole run worth reading? I recall it receiving some criticism at the time.

In my opinion, no. My personal favorite runs, in order: Rucka (an all around impressive Wonder Woman with intelligent writing) Luke (explored the Pantheons and a lot of mythology) Perez/Jimenez (tied) Byrne (some highs but a lot of lows) Messner-Loebs (interesting tidbits but DC editorial mandated he jettison the Perez run so a bit of this was sloppy)
