Rulk, Konvict = FLAVORS OF THE MONTH.

Oh, and Kurse and Mangog would wipe themselves with Rulk like I said. And to think we were banning these guys from tournaments?

Once and for all, let's stop jumping the gun on new guys. Did you really think these guys would replace the top tiers? One showing does not a herald buster make. Thor whopped Rulk the second time. Konvict is said to be "as strong as Superman"- Wow!!! Give it time, folks.

But I got to say that Konvict is superior to Rhulk...

and has a pretty good tactical mind, but plus he's a bastard. But when he is extemely mad or frustrated, his that high level "burns off." Or, it could be when he exerts himself for a sustained period. Konvict is Superman level in strength, again, extremely high. But he can't fly and I doubt he can jump to the moon. I'd probably rate Konvict slightly above Rulk.

But again, my point is that we need to stop this foolishness that is rating new characters ABOVE the benchmark top tiers based on a couple appearances and no explanation of their power levels. To think Rulk above Thor, Surfer, etc.... You don't see them saying things like "Oh no, I'm in space!  Better hold my breath."

That nobody listens. Here you are again making snap judgements based on a single defeat... at the hands of Marvel's two biggest guns. Of course no villain will have long term victory over the established heros- that's the nature of comics. This includes Kurse and Mangog and Doomsday and any other villain you want to name. The big difference between Rulk and Konvict is that Rulk is just another aspect of Hulk's power when in the hands of another. Every feat Rulk accomplishes spoke of Hulk's power and potential. Konvict was a new and separate entity alltogether. Rulk was also a good deal more powerful than Konvict, by the way... just to clear that up.

I don't know, Konvict was able to punch out supes w/one hit, and even after Supes and WW could not put them down and had to use special gas to take him out.

In the end for Rhulk, Thor schools him and Hulk KO's him because he burned himself out, I see Konvict able to do the same...

Just as there's nothing backing up the claim that Konvikt is more powerful than Red Hulk.

Entire JLA team COULD NOT take him down physically!!!

Thor and HULK pertty much owned Rhulk...

I mean look at what RH has done, regardless of how he lost now. Knocked out a Watcher, defeated She Hulk with ease, Iron Man with ease, beat Hulk, beat Wendigo and beat Thor. All easily.

In round two RH looked to be on the verge of beating Hulk again, then Thor jumps in and somehow is able to hurt him now. Then Hulk comes in and finishes him. Confusing, very much but how do we just ignore what happened?

An amazing feat that few from any company could claim. HOWEVER, the Hulk did the same thing to Pre-Crisis Superman.

Supes wasn't seen until 2 pages later.

Red Hulk hasn't.
But the Hulk has knocked out someone FAR SUPERIOR to who Konvikt K.O.ed: Pre-Crisis Superman.

We have seen in Thor's own title that he has made clear to his opponents he isn't messing around but getting right to business. Ask Iron Man if you don't believe me.
> Secondly, every writer is different and no writer is obliged to follow past continuity exactly as it was before. Loeb for whatever reason went out of his way to portray Thor as wanting to end Rulk's life in that first fight. We saw this in Thor's own words above.

If the answer was clearly that, unlike Hulk, Red Hulk got weaker with rage (by burning out) then it would make sense. A rested, calm Red Hulk may be worldbreaker level versus a boiling RH that is Thing level.

and Hulk didn't have a chance to power up. That's what it all comes down to. Rulk is a beast, but he's simply not "above tier" as reported.

The assumption is that a character is not above tier until he PROVES it. He didn't. He beat Hulk when Hulk was not sufficiently made. He also beat Thor with some initial trickery and was happy he was able to do it. Then Thor showed him was real power was.

He did NOTHING to indicate that he was ABOVE that level. He beak Thor with a tactical plan and Thor was obviously holding back. The next time, Thor creamed him. It was not bad writing, it's impatience on the part of the comic book reading community.
