Before Dark Marvel and other X-fans dogpile on me, I do have a case here:

Not only it was stated in comics that they were peers in power, BUT Emma pretty much owned him before, as my scans show...

So, who wins and why?

***X tells Emma she is stronger and that she cannot win in a straight up psi battle...she admits it then proceeds to explain that she was prepared for what X did to Scott and she is like a virus now...not to mention Emma Frost is one of the top psi' currently on the planet but as both Charles and Emma expressed...Charles Xavier would win in a straight up psi battle...just like he did to Exodus a few issues before this one.

I don't see them as peers as such, Xavier made clear he has the stronger power but Emma made clear she had had the prep - working away while he was talking to scott and making the field her own.

The problem i suppose is that Emma is now being flouted as an 'important' character, like Ares or Norman Osborn, and as a result the old timers like Xavier (even Iron Man to an extent) are being pushed aside so they can have a slice of the action and look mega-competent in the process....
So far since getting his powers back i don't think Xavier has shown much of anything, he badly needs to step up to the plate and start asserting himself as a character again. Magneto, Sebastian Shaw and even Cable are suffering similar relegation worries right now....

She's always been highly skilled, so not an unprecedented showing. But that was definitly one-sided prep she had and she admits to it fully...

Seriously, if Professor X was THAT good, how could Emma manipulated him like that?

The same when Mr. Sinister simply took over his body and mind...

Yeah, she had one-sided prep, but manipulating Professor X (out of all people) subconsciously isn't some kind of ownage in a way, as this is his strength and power...?

No that's not really fair - she says she got in because HE was in scotts mind, which she was also in, waiting just for him! She therefore got into Xaviers mind that way - like a computer virus gets past a firewall & virus scanner.

We know she's an extremely skilled psi, she actually owned & embarrassed the more powerful Rachel Grey back in Uncanny, so in the circumstances shown here it's perfectly passable she did what she did.

Xavier was inside his mind ***exactly*** looking for traces other people's thoughts (in that case, Mr. Sinister's). The fact she can be there and unnoticed... also, keep in mind that Xavier wasn't in Scott's mind for that long. With minimal prep, Emma owned him.

***Well I would imagine a psi battle is a bit more complicated then who is stronger and who is weaker...if you have prep against somebody and there is say a mind bomb or some sort of mind virus then I would guess it is easy to get caught by it...I mean it's clear as day she set up a trap and he got caught by it...I am not sure what exactly you would like him to do.

The same when Mr. Sinister simply took over his body and mind...

It wasn't "minimal prep"!

Read the page and it is *explicit* that she had been in Scotts mind waiting for him to make a move and immediatly hopped into his mind unnoticed, exactly like computer virus, getting to work on laying the field in her favor - all while he was blithly lecturing scott.
We know she's good enough to do this and we know exactly how she did it. You seem to be implying Xavier should be 101% infallible & omniscient....

that Charles is more powerful and Emma prepared for him by putting in blocks and the like to overcome his advantage. It was not a straight out fight with mental powers. It is pretty clear charles is more powerful in that regard but Emma was smart enough to recognize her failing and use what she had.
