And a lean, silent figure slowly fades into the gathering darkness, aware at last that in this world, with great power there must also come -- great responsibility!

Unless there are some good Proteus feats I missed.

Only ever saw him in the Claremont/Byrne run.

I've later understood that was not really the end of him.

Proteus was a major problem but he was/is defeatable with great effort. Korvac was on a whole another level of power. In the end he basically defeated himself because his lady friend doubted him. Korvac would win and absorb Proteus' powers.

Korvac without a doubt - if we considered Korvac a 10 on the threat scale - Proteus would be an 8 or 8.5 but not enough to beat Korvac.

Depemds on which Michael here, as the one of the Avengers saga under Jim Shooter seemed to be his trial run for later Beyonder, and a real Universal threat!

But he does seem to be on a greater scale and level than Proteus. Is Korvac immune to reality-warping? I guess that I pick Korvac.

Proteus only has a limited form of reality warping - i believe he can only affect a limited area. 100 feet or something - that makes his threat level far more limited than a low level cosmic being like Korvac imho.

I think Proteus area of effect might have increased in Exiles a bit, where he also found a "cure" to his metal weakness; he had better feats there, but it probably helped that those were all alternate disposable realities.

On the other hand, Korvak stole power from Galactus, so he originally wasn't that strong as well before that power up... I think Korvak would win if we consider the top of his power against a standard Proteus; the Exiles one, i would give a fair chance at winning, no more than 50/50

The bpeak Korval of the Avengers Jim Shooter was like a pre Beyonder, so should win this with ease!
