Hercules. He's got a lot more experience vs opponents equal and probably stronger, in fist-to-fist situations. Where He-Man really hasn't much. Also considering he's usually tougher and stronger than foes on his world.

Pre Crisis Superman did meet He Man and could have been comparable in strength, but that was a very different 'He Man' than what was depicted in the cartoon and later Star Comics. The more recent crossovers, He Man was portrayed as powerful enough to fight Superman pretty well, and it was believable that he killed Superman with a sword through the chest, but we don't really have enough info.

There are some decent arguments that Superman is stronger than Thor, and by extension Marvel's Hercules, but there are also reasonable arguments that they are even. Any differential between Superman and Marvel's Hercules would be minimal IMO, as it would be with Thor.

As generally portrayed, I'd put He man somewhere in the Wonder Woman category in both strength and durability. He (and She Ra) have a few upper tier feats, and He Man has good crossover showings, so he could be portrayed as higher, but in general, I'd give Thor, Superman, or Marvel's Hercules a clear and measurable strength advantage, though not an overwhelming one.

That being the case, overall I favor Hercules here, provided he takes the fight seriously from the start. Because he tends to play around a little at first, it could be an upset...

The most recent he man could fare well against Supes, and I think that a reasonable person would view Superman as being the DC version of the ulk, and so superior in brute strenght to both Thor and Herc, as its just the way he is!

His top end would be about same as a raging Hulk....

Depends on how strong you think He-Man is and/or what version you are going with. I am most familiar with the cartoon version from the 80's. Going by that depiction, I don't remember him being shown as definitively stronger than Hercules, but I could be wrong.

Hercules has been at it for far longer than He-Man and is probably a better fighter.

He-Man would have to have a serious strength and/or durability advantage to beat Hercules. In my opinion.

Don't you think that's a little one-sided? Herc just because he has more feats.

I think there really isn't an analog to the Hulk at DC. Where Capt marvel has been portrayed as his true equal since pre crisis and other Kryptonians and Daxamites pop up occasionally, I would say Thor and Cap are deconstructions of Superman. I'd say Superman is like an amalgamation of the two, but that isn't fair to the original.

I was speakinmg more of what their roles are in both Universes, as each would be the strongest Hero on their earths, at least for most of their continuity!

I admit my knowledge here of the comic book He-Man who fought Superman is virtually non-existent. I am sure He-Man could be stronger than Hercules. But how much stronger? And is he more durable? If so, how much more durable?

It'd have to be significant to overcome Hercules' fighting skills and experience advantage. You had stipulated a fist fight only situation, and Hercules is a great hand-to-hand fighter. If He-Man has Hulk like healing, or if he is much stronger than Herc, than sure I could see it going He-Man's way. Is this He-Man known for being a good hand-to-hand fighter?
