Serious? You drink enough water and your insides literally drown. There was a case in the 90's about a frat that came under investigation when one of their rushes was forced to drink several gallons of water and he also ended up dying.

This probably sounds cold, but I have little sympathy for people this stupid. She deserves a Darwin award.

Yeah, it's called water toxicifacation I guess. Pretty scary, but yeah, I guess it's possible.

Yeah, a little cold, but I'd agree. But how many people do you think even KNOW about that if you drink way too much water you'll die? Until today, I didn't. I think a lot of people probably don't know about it either.

I just thought it was really interesting and a bit scary.

They become so dehydrated that they attempt to replenish their body's water supply and they drown themselves in the process.

It makes sense, its not like she didnt know somethign bad would happen, its not like she felt nothing, then fell over dead. Heres the moral: if your doing something wierd that hurts... STOP B4 U DIE

That's hardly a realistic creed to live by, though. Exercising is supposed to hurt a little and it often feels weird when you're starting - but it would actually be counter-intuitive to stop on that basis, since it makes you healthy, wouldn't it? You need a new moral.

Actually the radio station I listen to at work were talking about it and they played a clip of the prelude to the contest (pretty much from when the contestents first showed up to right before the contest started) and numerous people actually called into the station to tell them it wasn't a good idea, but the DJ's more or less blew off the warnings and went along with it anyway.

And so yeah I suppose what I pointed out could be used to point out that the lady was just as much of an idiot for doing it. But blame could also be pointed at the DJ's for not only knowing the dangers, but ignoring them and still encouraging it anyway
