Subj: Teaching - wtf

I've been deployed to Bosnia, watching the aftermath of one of the worst genocides in recent memory.
I've been deployed to Iraq and stood in Basra, which was described by veterans as 'Hell on Earth'.
Now, I have completed 1 term in an inner city school.
Uni tell me 1 thing, School another. I have insisted on being treated fairly (not left alone in a class for hours on end - I'm not covered from a safeguarding or insurance issue, I don't have access to all SEN details, no feedback, no certified time in the classroom etc).
So much bullying in the department and I have refused to be bullied, but tbh it would have been a lot easier to have been bullied and just go with it. I was in the staff-room, with Head of Maths and Head of Year, literally telling each other to f++k off. I couldn't leave as I had to print off the answer sheet with a class I was supposed to cover last minute. It's insane.
Had 1 safeguarding issue of medium severity reported to me, because to use her words 'I'm not mental'. 2 complaints about staff I have had to bounce back and tell them to report to Head of Year.
I didn't even know 2 kids I taught were autistic and 1 legally blind, because the teacher didn't tell me. Obviously I figured it out, but it would have been helpful knowing a student can't see when prepping work. Also, that I have a student who suffers from mental health paranoia attacks.
