It does appear that China wanted to discuss this specifically with the US as part of bilateral trade negotiations, but it striking to see the difference in tone.

This company is being sanctioned for selling to Iran and North Korea, before they were allowed to do so with Iran. One would assume or hope that concessions would come out of this but given the national security issues, is it worthy it?

It also does not hurt that Chinese government has given a $500 million dollar loan to the Trump organization.

Might be nothing, but given the organizations initial promises about foreign business when Trump was elected and the fact that Trump never fully divested in a real manner, this is not a good look.
