Or did they? Let's find out.

Per Times Magazine and many other news sites, Kentucky teens visiting Washington D.C. taunted a Native American veteran (Nathan Phillips) because of bigotry, racism, and hatred. Specifically, many of the students were wearing MAGA hats and jeered the Native American, chanting "Build that wall." One of the students even got up in the face of Nathan Phillips to intimidate, threaten, and make him feel unwelcome in this country. You can watch the video of the incident here (judge for yourself), and it looks terrible: a smug teen who thinks it's funny to smirk and instigate a confrontation based on bigotry.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0vzEYWK2Jk

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/jan/20/outcry-after-kentucky-students-in-maga-hats-mock-native-american-veteran

Later, Nathan Phillips gave a tear-jerking recollection of the incident, gaining sympathy from many: a Native American that, with quiet dignity, bravely stood up against bigotry and hatred.

https://twitter.com/dcpoll/status/1086701202572828672

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jvbsqk0HOWw

The Native American also claimed: "What the young man was doing was blocking my escape. I wanted to leave. I was thinking, 'How do I get myself out of this? I want to get away from it,'" Phillips said.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/19/us/teens-mock-native-elder-trnd/index.html

Then Chris Evans, Captain America, called what the students did appalling, ignorant, shameful, and evidence that America is creeping back to its darker history. One of his fans even tweeted the 16 year old kid's name, encouraging: "Do your magic Twitter," so people would go after the minor.

https://twitter.com/ChrisEvans/status/1086758159891320832

https://twitter.com/conconleedon/status/1086836263062302720

https://mobile.twitter.com/CeciliaCmaida/status/1086783832777383936

And all of this seems reasonable (except maybe that last part of encouraging millions of people to target/threaten a minor) when you focus on the context of just one video that recorded the incident. I agree it looks horrible.

But then something strange happened... There are now videos surfacing that show the full incident, and from different angles. You can see that it all began with African American supremacists of the Hebrew Israelite movement spewing hate speech, including against the Native Americans.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQyBHTTqb38

You can then see the high school kids starting to congregate around the 1:10 mark of the video, but they don't appear to be congregating to instigate a fight. In fact, as evident from 1:26:40, they're just waiting for their school buses to take them home and away—they’re congregating around the exact place where they should be. And they actually cheer when the buses arrive so they can leave a place they clearly don't want to be.

At 1:12:10, you can see that it's actually the Native Americans, not the teenagers, who instigate the confrontation.

Here's a shortened video to show this:

https://twitter.com/PolishPatriotTM/status/1086955744556171266

But here's the real story. Remember the 16 year old kid who looked so hateful and bigoted, initiating a stare down with the Native American? The poster child of hate that all the media outlets are reporting? Well, it turns out that the media lied and ignored the full context of the incident. At 1:07 below, you can clearly see that the kid is just minding his own business (he’s not even one of the people jumping/chanting), just looking around and laughing with his colleagues. It’s the Native American who targets him for a confrontation/stare down at 1:14. The kid, instead of harassing and intimidating, was just standing in his own space, and looking back at an adult man who got up in his face.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpoTGUSRTwA

And remember when the Native American told the news that his escape was blocked, that he was just looking for a way out? Does this video look like an accurate recollection of that claim? Also, since when is anyone required to move themselves from their personal space? If a kid just stands his ground, makes no threatening gestures, just smiles—this is now what passes as bigotry and racism? That it's okay for his school to expel him? That it’s okay for Chris Evans’ followers to target a mere minor by spreading his name and encouraging Twitter to work its magic? I don’t see anything from Chris Evans, retracting or telling his followers to cool that hateful targeting. Such hypocrisy and hatred is all I see, from people supposedly non-hateful and tolerant.

Oh, and remember how the Native American said the teens were chanting "Build that wall"? Turns out that didn't happen either. They were merely shouting their school chant to drown out the loud, hateful rhetoric from the African Americans of the Hebrew Israelite movement.

CNN continues to keep their video online, claiming it was the teen who got in Nathan Phillips' face, not the other way around.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cnn.com/cnn/2019/01/21/us/nathan-phillips-maga-teens-interview/index.html

Also, how much lying can Nathan Phillips do?  He continues to provide a different account from video evidence. He's now claiming that the students appeared like they were going to lynch the African American supremacists, so that's why he stepped in (but he's not really sure).

"It looked like these young men were going to attack these guys. They were going to hurt them. They were going to hurt them because they didn't like the color of their skin. They didn't like their religious views. They were just here in front of the Lincoln -- Lincoln is not my hero, but at the same time, there was this understanding that he brought the (Emancipation Proclamation) or freed the slaves, and here are American youth who are ready to, look like, lynch these guys. To be honest, they looked like they were going to lynch them. They were in this mob mentality. Where were their parents?"

CNN even helped him along, guiding him into an agenda-driven response. Check out some excerpts of the exchange. CNN was leading him into the answers, as evident by his "I think so" responses, indicating he wasn't even sure himself what his true intentions were.

CNN: You just sort of decided to try and stop this or at least have an impact on it, calm the waters. Is that right?

Phillips: Yes, that's the impression that everybody has, and I guess that's what I was doing. I didn't realize that's what I was doing.

CNN: Sure. So you're sort of in between these two groups, yes?

Phillips: Yes.

CNN: Were you trying to calm the situation down basically when you saw kind of things seemed to spiral out of control?

Phillips: I think so.

It’s not just CNN, it’s all news outlets that rushed to judgement because social media culture demands the newest and latest scoops. The full vetting process is sometimes skipped.

For example, BuzzFeed is now taking some serious blows for running a story last Thursday, that Mueller had “substantial evidence” that Trump instructed Cohen to lie to Congress. The only problem? Mueller’s office read the article and said it wasn’t accurate. How did this happen? Buzzfeed’s reporting is built on immediacy, and instead of emailing a detailed description of what the article would say for Mueller’s office to comment, the email was only 3 sentences long as follows:

"Anthony [Cormier] and I have a story coming stating that Michael Cohen was directed by President Trump himself to lie to Congress about his negotiations related to the Trump Moscow project," the email read. "Assume no comment from you but just wanted to check.”

Mueller’s office simply replied that they had no comment. So they ran a story without a confirmation, a dereliction of duty per CNN.

This is the kind of stuff that rightfully erodes the public’s trust in news (and hopefully results in BuzzFeed’s demise).

CNN should be ashamed of themselves for posting this kind of crap. This is the kind of lies that the liberal news media likes to put out by allowing the use of the race card. After reading this I have ordered one of those hats and will wear it proudly to support Trump and his border wall. I am also proud of those teens for wearing these hats and I bet alot more of these hats will be ordered after this.

As luck would have it, Phillips is from Michigan, as am I.

Because of this, one of his first interviews was with the Detroit Free Press. An interview that predates the CNN interview... I when it went up on 8:40 am, before the CNN interview was broadcast.

IN that interview he says he tried to intercede. I don't know if that is true or not, I wasn't there, bu at least that part of his story is consistent.

https://www.freep.com/story/news/local/michigan/2019/01/20/native-american-leader-nathan-phillips-recounts-incident-video/2630256002/

Here is the initial interview, with none of the leading he mentions...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jvbsqk0HOWw

At 10:00 this morning (January 21.), they put up this video showing the students side

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iTG6KoHihg

You can only present things as you have them. The kids reacted after Philips made his statement. OF course it would be after.

However, they reported it early in the morning, when they got there side.

There were also reports that the kids families were urging them not to talk until they talked to a lawyer, which would have delayed things.

Yeah, me too. CNN is now calling him “MAGA teen” and using this phony story to propel their agenda, that MAGA hats are in the same ballpark as swastikas. It’s bigotry in the reverse—their attempt to depower the voices of those supporting Trump and the pride of a Make America Great Again hat. The sad thing is, CNN used to be my go-to source in the early 2000’s when they were a neutral network. Now, though, I find myself relying on Fox News after avoiding them for 10 years. They’re the only way to balance the constant garbage and hate rhetoric coming from CNN, Huffington Post, BuzzFeed, MSNBC, WaPo, and NYT. I don’t think I’ve ever been as politically resentful to the Left as I now feel.

Isn't that the whole point? That CNN and everyone else reported before getting the kids' side, for full verification and fairness?

That's not an excuse for rushing to judgment. The news, all of them, goofed badly. A 16 year old kid's name has gone public now, and his family has received death threats. It's not right, and every news network that ran their stories should now apologize. They have not retracted their previous news stories, and Chris Evans (Captain Shit Bag) has still not retracted his Twitter post. In fact, he has doubled down, retweeting that videos "BACK UP/STRENGTHEN Mr. Nathan Phillips," despite all the evidence I showed to the contrary.  This, to me, is proof how toxic liberals have become.

https://twitter.com/lisasharper/status/1087174914673655809

Even still, there's this USA Today columnist who still denies the evidence. Both she and Chris Evans cited Lisa Sharon Harper as their source.

https://twitter.com/KirstenPowers/status/1087340680140259331

Here's Ms. Harper. Look at her Twitter feed and judge for yourself what kind of honest and fair person she is.

While I could allow for the press to be wrong...it happens sometimes. The doubling down part and citing of people like Ms. Harper as a reliable source when she clearly is biased has me on the side of essentially calling this FAKE News as well.

To only represent one side....to not fact check...to not investigate...to double down...how is this any different than Trumps comments he keeps gong back nd forth on...there is no difference.

Here's another CNN screw up for you:

Well I wouldn't trust Fox anymore than CNN. They are just on the other side of the spectrum and just as bad. Maybe if you watch both and where they agree you can then draw your views?

As for Buttheads link...that writer is trash. Look you can think the hats are stupid...but to immediately imply that they reference to America being great in the time of slavery is idiotic and shows that this writer is the racist. That THIS is how he interprets MAGA just shows his own racist agenda. And still trying to blame the kids no matter what the truth is.

Racism is alive and well in the US of A. And it's coming from all sides...soon we will turn on each other because racists of all types wont ever see themselves as racist.

Not all Dems are bad. Jamie Lee Curtis was pretty sincere in offering a retraction. I always thought she was a rather strong woman.

https://news.yahoo.com/covington-catholic-students-blackface-underline-184436976.html

Yahoo and Huffington Post doubling down with new evidence to validate their original stories. And once again, on the surface, it looks horrible. You have Covington high school students from 2011 absolutely caught in the act being racists. They're dressed in blackface and harassing a black basketball player. Look!

Just one problem...

They have a history of taunting and being jerks to white people, too.

https://www.reddit.com/r/pics/comments/aibjto/pictures_emerge_showing_covington_high_school/

Just minor details that Yahoo and Huffington Post missed, that leaves me (a non-news source) to correct for them, but it's no big deal, man. #FakeNews

And as for the blackface? It was a "blackout" game, a color-themed game for school spirit!! People are encouraged to dress in black, and painting your body is what sports fans do everywhere! Just because the face paint happens to be black doesn't mean they were mocking African Americans. That's just stupid!

https://twitter.com/ryantoler_/status/1087517789684936704?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1087517789684936704&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thisisinsider.com%2Fvideo-of-covington-catholic-students-seemingly-in-black-face-sparks-controversy-2019-1

Here's them doing a Hawaiian theme:

Are liberals tired being misrepresentative and hateful, yet? The only thing these boys are guilty of is having raging hormones.
