I used to be a member of her fan-club staff in the nineties and early 2000's. Met her several times. She always seemed to be a nice person. Very down to earth despite the fantastical stuff she wrote about. She will be mourned.

I was obsessed with the Vampire Chronicle (original trilogy and the Body Thief - it got strange after that). I also really enjoyed the Mummy and wish she had continued writing in this world. Could never quite get into the Mayfair Witches stuff. I think it was written more for women, perhaps.

Did anyone ever read the painted comic of Interview With the Vampire and the Vampire Lestat? It was gorgeous. Worth tracking down.

RIP to an author who made a difference in my life.
