Jessica Jones 013 (2017)
Jessica's paranoia rang true in the standard Bendis narrative and dialogue for her - essentially from page 1 to 20.
The point of Purple Man at the unnamed Seaworld Aquarium was unclear. We aren't told what he whispered to the blonde spectator or why he covered his eyes at the end of the sequence. Was it just to show a fugitive unafraid to hide in plain sight?
Luke's concern was believable. His "safe words" protocol with his wife was neat detail.
Winner of the Bland Hero of the Issue Award goes to Iron Fist.
The revolving door lazy presence of Armadillo as the shmuck-villain du jour was annoying.
Plainclothes Carol babbled on a bit much. Her connecting them both to Avengers was continuity suspect. The story makes a point to confirm that SHIELD is kaput but does nothing to clarify us her new status quo. However, her intention to mobilize the troops and her working her Marcus Pregnancy into the conversation was okay.
The surprise with Dani provides a clever twist for this arc. It was effectively creepy/scary in a scary/creepy way. The danger scenario ultimately needs explanation but it also saved this sit down read.
