DC has now established the Mystic Trinity as being Zatanna, John Constantine and Deadman.

Anyone else think DC dropped the ball with this? In my mind, the mystic Trinity should be:

1. Dr. Fate (WHY is he not considered a part of the mystic Trinity, I'll never understand).

2. Zatanna

3. John Constantine.

Sorry, but Deadman is hardly ever used as a character while the 3 I mentioned are, plus Dr. Fate is THE most powerful Sorceror in the DC Universe, far above Zatanna and Constantine. Why does Deadman rate while Dr. Fate doesn't?

It's interesting that a hero/villain performs one amazing feat, or use a power they haven't used for 20+ years, and that automatically propels them to a high status despite scans and evidence to the contrary. I don't know what is worse, selective feat picking that has only been done once or twice 20, or more, years ago or ignoring evidence from scans or the lack thereof. We need to stop putting our favorite heroes/villains on pedestals and start putting them where they really belong. But it's evident that people never will because they would rather accuse others of cherry picking feats, when they don't, and being 'morally superior' when they aren't. I guess being honest and as fair as possible only opens one up to being the target of childish accusations and fault finding by those who insist on acting petty and childish. What happened to a good debate between two civil, mature, adults?

I would think that these are the three with the most commercial viability (i.e. television/film) and therefore DC want to push, and of course these are three who are members of the Justice League Dark squad. It is as straight-forward as that.

As you point out any seriously considered mystical 'trinity' would contain Doctor Fate as a matter of course, also The Phantom Stranger, and then possibly Zattanna as she is the most established and pre-eminent sorceror in the DCU after Fate.
John Constantine is largely amateur and small potatoes compared to these three, to say nothing of his untrustworthiness.

Well, when they launched New52, there wasn't going to even be a Doctor Fate.
Really, it SHOULD be a pointed pentagram with Doctor Fate, the Spectre, Zatanna, Captain Marvel (I refuse to call him Shazam) and your choice of Ibis, Bloodwynd, Doctor Mist, or Amethyst, as any of them are A> More powerful than Constantine B. More likeable than Constantine and C. Belong in a superhero universe, unlike Constantine. He belongs is a separate Vertigo imprint.
