All the Snyder cut is going to prove (Yet again) is that he was totally clueless when it came to the DC heroes.

Don't forget, we got the 'Snyder cuts' of Man of Steel and Batman vs Superman, and they were unrelentingly awful.

Snyder has his fans, and the release of this cut will please them, but no one else.

Warner though seems to be taking a wait and see for if the response is big enough, they just might greenlight him for Jla 2!

Man of Steel underperformed.

Batman vs Superman underperformed.

Justice League underperformed.

Suicide Squad (Which followed the Snyderverse template) underperformed.

All four films were divisive amongst their audience and generated a lot of negative press.

And with Covid-19, Warners need cash. They can't afford to release a film to theaters which will almost certainly be a massive underperformer. They're already having to fork out between $20=30m to complete the film (And that's on top of the $300m they've already spent on Justice League).

A theatrical release of a four-hour long film that only dedicated fans will go to see would be financial suicide.

And believe me, with the disaster that the DCCU has been under Snyder's guidance, he's not going to get JL 2, or another Superman film other than in an exec producer capacity.

At this point I doubt they'd trust him to do Inferior 5 or Brother Power, the Geek.

Snyder has already stated it'll be released on HBO Max (Either as a four-hour movie or a six-part mini series), and that'll be an end to it, thankfully, bar some dvd and blu-ray sales.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for that to happen.

Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, Justice League, Suicide Squad - all underperformed.

Harley Quinn/Birds of Prey - flop.

Shazam - borderline.

So out of 8 released movies only two (Wonder Woman and Aquaman) can claim success. That's a very poor ratio.

Flash - Announced as going ahead, but Ezra Miller's physical assault on a fan has probably depth charged Warner's plans there.

The Batman - There were already rumblings of discontent amongst fans over the casting of Robert Pattinson. Coronavirus has thrown a serious spanner in the works, with production being halted indefinitely some three months into filming. This will undoubtedly push production costs through the roof. This film will have to earn big money before it breaks even, let alone gets into profit.

Warner's plans for a DC cinematic universe are basically in tatters right now. Very little is working out for them, and they have some serious world-building to do before they even think about doing another Justice League.

All eyes are going to be on the performance of Wonder Woman 2 and The Batman. I doubt Warners will put anything else into production before it sees if those two make money.

Don't forget, the perceived failure of Justice League caused people to lose their jobs at Warner at an executive level. Their replacements aren't going to put themselves in the same position.

What is weird, is that I really think that DC/Warner should give a Superman movie a green light, and do it with Brandon Routh as the KC Superman that he was in the Crossover event!

Considering I liked his Watchmen, and hated his other DC films...
I'd probably enjoy Snyder's Brother Power, the Geek.

Give Taika Waititi the Inferior Five.

AO every now and again I wish this forum had a "Likes Button" so I could just push it, effectively saying "I approve, this is a great post" when I have nothing further to add.

This is one of those times.
