Page By Page reactions to compare if you read this chapter (with solid artwork)...

Deadpool #23 (2016)

Fun cover. It's going to look the next issue cover peek look bland.

Preston really needs more intensive exposition what makes her "LMD" body unique and keeps her true sentience. Location of SHIELD "secret" base revealed to be in Newark without being redacted or unreavlable - and what d'ya know? Marvel Comics wasn't destroyed! Now THAT'S welcome exposition.

Good mood setting and Preston moment.

-05 Decent Wade/Preston/Adsit interaction and sitch report. Probably could have been done equal in 1-2 pgs in the good ol'days.

Darkest of dark comedy with crematorium solution. Deeply, deeply disturbing and yet kinda a smart quickfix "Deadpool way" to beat the virus.

Sure, the timestamp says "LATER" but the implication is he regenerated as crazyquick as Logan did against Nitro that time. Plus, they whitewash the character boggling matter of fact he doesn't heal any better or worse. Question: Do we know Sister Margaret's School?

Great interrogation of barroom thugs. Another fine Preston moment.

Typical rushed canvasing of all the MU supervillains. Annoying and offputting illogic if you think about it. Total opposite to pgs3-5 in that this probably should have been with 1-2 more pages (and cameos for the heck of it). It does relay the direness of the threatening pandemic which is the point.

-11 Ask and she will receive? Huh. 3 more pages of bullets blazing interrogation... of just nobodies. Not near as satisfying as the previous 2 pages so it feels like padding... especially with not much typical yuks by DP. Also, there's even more TYPICAL gratuitous bulletfest that just seems to contradict DP's new Avengers-esque M.O. which was an actual story point a couple pages ago. Still, Preston has a good showing. And what's with that white cat?

-15 Decent Wade/Preston/Adsit interaction and dramatic twist. Anyone feel that Madcap could still be in Adsit? If that kind of misdirection was the point then that would help balance the fact this scene was stretched out to 4 pages.

OH MAN! More good Preston 'tude!

-19 OH MAN! As legitamately and effectively shocking as the last page surprise was it was ridiculous that it took 3 pages of humdrum telephoning to get there. Also, were other MU options for a cure simply bypassed as story device trope again? Did he even consult with Shiklah? And, turning to time travel muckery concurrently with all the other temporal holes being made in other MU books deserves at least a premature groan. Aren't the amount of jokes out of the Merc's mouth proportional to how troubled he is? Missed opp: these pages could have used a zinger (with so few DP shares this ish) orrr is his daughter's life in the balance fair reason why here?

OH MAN! It's Stryfe?! STRYFE! Was there an in-story back issue where he did give Wade his number? And remind me: what was the last storyline with Stryfe? And did he die?
