Subj: Trial of the Flash Showcase surprises.

I just got to read the vast majority of this for the first time, and I have to admit I was shocked by a few things.
For starters, Piper being a genuinely scary SOB and murderer, using mind control to get innocents to torch the Flash Museum, try and influence Barry's trial to get him convicted, and murder Central City's mayor. He seemed to be the prime mover in setting up Big Sur to go on a psychotic rampage as well, although his fellows certainly had a role there as well. I just never thought of him as being that malevolently evil... only the Reverse-Flash comes across as that bad in the entire arc.
I liked the Rogues as semi-friendly competitors, instead of being the sorts that hang out together. Trickster and Weather Wizard one-upping each other over an armored car heist was just fun... although the whole group gathering to give the Reverse-Flash a funeral just to make sure that he's dead, and destroying the corpse to make sure there was no resurrection was pretty fun.
I really wish that this trade had been slightly longer, and included the Tomar-Re/Reverse-Flash fight after Zoom escaped his prison... I recall that being rather good. The fact that the Guardians thought so highly of Barry was a surprise, with years of seeing them as being a bunch of cold monsters... and it shows what a great man Barry Allen is.
