Or has anything ever been said or done that'd make his existing in that world impossible?

The reason I ask is that early on it was suggested the new Supergirl show, running on CBS (which is half owner of the CW), could take place in the Arrow/Flash universe, allowing for crossovers.

More recently they've made it plain that Superman already exists in the world Supergirl lives in.

If any crossovers take place, he'd also have to already exist in the Arrow/Flash universe, unless the crossovers involve dimension-hopping.

From everything said and done on Arrow and The Flash so far, is it possible Superman already exists in that world?

No outright impossible no,it could be he is in 'Smallville' mode and just about adopting his Superman identity. But generally speaking I must say I doubt there is a Superman in The Flash's world as being who and what he is it is inconceivable Barry and others would not mention him, he was the first superhero and the one everyone else looks to. He would be filling the newspapers, on the airwaves, but instead we have had nothing but silence. And that I think speaks for itself.

I'm going to be using Smallville since that show is the perfect example of the point I wish to make.

Traditionally, Clark never met Lois before he moved to Metropolis and most interpretations have Clark meeting Lois for the first time at the Daily Planet. But Smallville broke with tradition and had them meet way ahead of their time.

Traditionally, Lois does not find out Clark is Superman until years after Superman's debut. In Smallville, she learns about Clark long before he becomes Superman.

Traditionally, Superman should be the first Super-Hero, but in Smallville he was not. Green Arrow preceeded him as did Black Canary. ANd if I am not mistaken, Bart did as well. They may not have been "public" (as far as I can remember) but they were still first. Even the Angel of Vengeance was before Clark became Superman. Oh, and then there's Booster Gold and Blue Beetle also becoming heroes before Clark became Superman.

Smallville broke all the traditions because the writing staff didn't give a crap. So, Green Arrow and the Flash appearing before Superman Is perfectly plausible in the Arrow/Flash Universe. Tradition was broken repeatidly in Smallville and it can be broken here. It's definitely possible Superman already exists but in a Pre-Superman state.

It's interesting that a hero/villain performs one amazing feat, or use a power they haven't used for 20+ years, and that automatically propels them to a high status despite scans and evidence to the contrary. I don't know what is worse, selective feat picking that has only been done once or twice 20, or more, years ago or ignoring evidence from scans or the lack thereof. We need to stop putting our favorite heroes/villains on pedestals and start putting them where they really belong. But it's evident that people never will because they would rather accuse others of cherry picking feats, when they don't, and being 'morally superior' when they aren't. I guess being honest and as fair as possible only opens one up to being the target of childish accusations and fault finding by those who insist on acting petty and childish. What happened to a good debate between two civil, mature, adults?

Presumably if Clark exists no one knows of a Superman. Because if everyone in Starling City knew Superman existed they would always complain about how Metropolis never gets hit with an earthquake machine or besieged by an army of mirakuru powered mercs.
