They are both set to appear in December in a crossover event in Arrow and the Flash.

Hawkman looks great! Certainly way better than the one who appeared in Smallville. And the look is very realistic for the world they will be appearing in. But...is it me or does Hawkman's mace look a little too small? It needs to be bigger.

Speaking for myself, I don't really don't get why the casting directors cast Ciara Renée as Hawkgirl. Ethnicity aside, just look at her. She looks terrible as Hawkgirl. She just looks really weird in that helmet. Aside from that, the rest of the outfit looks great on her.

It's interesting that a hero/villain performs one amazing feat, or use a power they haven't used for 20+ years, and that automatically propels them to a high status despite scans and evidence to the contrary. I don't know what is worse, selective feat picking that has only been done once or twice 20, or more, years ago or ignoring evidence from scans or the lack thereof. We need to stop putting our favorite heroes/villains on pedestals and start putting them where they really belong. But it's evident that people never will because they would rather accuse others of cherry picking feats, when they don't, and being 'morally superior' when they aren't. I guess being honest and as fair as possible only opens one up to being the target of childish accusations and fault finding by those who insist on acting petty and childish. What happened to a good debate between two civil, mature, adults?

I have no objection at all about the casting other than the Watchmen evocations and the actor being a little too slight in build, though while the costuming is adequate it will be impossible to gauge its full success until we see them in action and the Wings are added - with Hawkman it's all about the Wings.
I love Hawkman. One of the reasons I came to love him was the John Ostrander series' with him, it made me see the potential in the character and ground him into a reality I could appreciate. And while Carter Hall is a different character the fundamentals to Hawkman's appeal is the costume and Wings as they are the first thing you see. Considering the costumes don't appear to carry any harness and are designed as almost full figure I strongly suspect the producers will be going for a pseudo-mystical concept where the wings grow from their backs or appear from nowhere, and that I would be dissapointed with as it alters the concept. I much prefer the idea of a mechanical effect and harness as it is more dramatic and effective than magic organic wings - Hawkman should not be taken for being the X-Men's Warren Worthington...

I liked the one from Smallville, wonder if they will do the doomed lovers thing again?

And can other heros, .aybe even the Spectre, be far behind?
